Sounds like a real nice perk V! Never was able to take advantage of most AP perks being so far away.
The passholder team put together an event with a party atmosphere last Saturday to celebrate the opening of Expedition Everest 5 years ago. Hard to imagine that it's been five years already.
Besides having EE open to only passholders from 6PM to 9PM, there was a DJ playing dance music in Dinoland, TriceraTop Spin was open, and Mickey and Goofy were meeting guests in special EE costumes. Food kiosks were available for snacks and drinks. The weather was perfect and everyone seemed to have a great time. I really feel fortunate to be an annual passholder AND live close enough to take advantage of events such as this.
I encourage anyone who did attend, to make comments at WDW.Passholder.Program@Disney.com. It's important to let the team know that you like these types of events and so that they don't disappear entirely.

Adult daycare for the kid inside you.

Some people are like Slinkies.
They aren't really good for anything,
but they still bring a smile to my face when I push them down a flight of stairs.

Hopefully you get to take advantage some day. The events aren't terribly common though, even being close I can't think of too many I've made it to.
It was great if only to get to ride EE at night. It's a shame the AK isn't open later (I realize it's for the good of the animals, don't get me wrong), as it is, IMO, a much more beautiful park at night.
Good tip on emails their passholder program. Took a pic of the cards they handed out so i could remember to do just that.

I've done AK at night several times. The lighting was poor for that many guests. Everest was cool. Unfortunately there was little to do with several main attractions closed (obviously) in the evening.
Two early mornings is a better idea. When the park originally opened, it opened at 7am. It was worth getting up early for, especially in the heat of the summer.
