WDW & DCL May 2011 day 1

On the trip: Tim (me) and Kerrie (DW)

We always like to start our trips a day early by staying over at the airport the night before the flight, so although today is technically a day at work for me my boss kindly agreed to let me just drop some stuff off at work in the morning so that we could head to Manchester airport early afternoon.

First job of the day was to drop Hercules off at kennels for his own 2 weeks holiday.

The little fella:

After dropping him off we dropped the stuff off I needed to at work and then went straight to the airport. We were a bit early to check-in yet so went to the airport viewing area where you can watch the planes take off and land, view some older aircraft and also see one of the old British Airways Concordes.

Concorde (it seems weird to use the phrase "I remember the old days when there were supersonic passenger planes" lol)

We also got to see an Airbus A380 Super jumbo taxi and take off:

We spent around an hour at the viewing park before going to our favored hotel the Radisson Blu which we love for the ease of access to the terminals and also the 'airside' view rooms.

We took a walk into terminal 1 and got some food from Greggs and took it back to the room and spent the rest of the night relaxing before an early start tomorrow.

Not the most exciting day in the world lol, but beats being at work, tomorrow off to Disney World YAY

Crikey, Hercules looks like a cuddly little boy!!!!

Great first day report! We're now massive fans of staying in a hotel the night before our flight...especially after getting snowed in at Gatwick for 3 nights last December!
