We were up early to catch our connecting flight with B.A. to Gatwick, I'd checked in and printed our boarding cards yesterday so it was just a case of going through security and waiting for a gate number, we also only had hand baggage each so we didn't have to check any cases in.
The connecting flight ended up with a 30 min delay as the next Gatwick flight was cancelled so they delayed ours to transfer some of those passengers, not that the delay mattered in the end as the flight was supposed to be about an hour but the pilot managed to do it in 35 mins.
This was the first time we'd been to Gatwick, there was so much more choice of places to eat and shops to look around than Manchester. We passed the time looking round before boarding the plane which was on time.
The food was the usual airline quality and I watched a few films including Tron Legacy for the first time. I did happen to notice one detail on the tiny plane screen and I've just checked on youtube and I still think it looks like 'one' so here's the link YouTube - ‪TRON Legacy - Flynn's Arcade Scene!‬‏ just at the beginning of the clip when the motorcycle pulls upto the arcade, does the brake light look like anything to anyone else or is it just me lol.
Anyway back to the flight as we approached Orlando International the Captain announced that we were going to have to circle for a while as the airport had closed due to a storm. We could see other planes circling also out of the window, after a while the Captain made another announcement (rather smugly lol) that the Virgin plane that was 'next' to us was being diverted to Jacksonville as it was getting low on fuel but we had enough to hang around a bit longer. I believe the other Virgin flight got diverted to Sanford.
About 20 mins later we got the o.k. to land, on the way down there was a bang and a flash of light...the Captain confirmed we had been struck by lightning, yay excitement lol.
The Captain informed us all to get a move on when we landed before all the other planes landed behind us and swamped immigration. Within about 15 mins we were at the Dollar Express desk to collect the S.U.V we had rented.
First stop was Walmart on SR535 to buy toiletries and a few other things since we had only brought a few clothes each in our hand luggage, then we made a stop at the Premium outlets for a few other things. Traffic all around Vineland AV and SR535 was a nightmare and it took ages to get to Downtown Disney where we collected our annual passes and got a Tables in Wonderland card.
We finally got to All Star Sports and checked in, collected our Owners Locker from bell services and went to unpack. It was nearly 11pm now and the original plans of going to the Magic Kingdom had gone out of the window so I went to Mcdonalds and got us some food and then we called it a night ready for an early start tomorrow.
I hardly took any photos today so here's a few of the room at All Star Sports:
That's all the boring traveling stuff out of the way, the real Disney stuff starts tomorrow along with decent photos
We were the first of the circling planes to land

Sometimes all you need is a reminder that out there lies a better place... a better world... a Walt Disney World.

That really does look like a Hidden Mickey! I forgot to say in my PM the other day that I checked it out when I came home after seeing you and Kerrie in the MK and even it's not intentional, it's a very cool little find. Well done eagle-eyes!

Brake light definitely looked like a Mickey to me.
By the way, never noticed it before, thanks for pointing out.
