    July 2011 Trip Report Part 3 of 4...Days 5-7 (7/24-7/26)

Here it is...the long-anticipated continuation of my trip report. Thanks for being patient everyone, with me going back to college I had no time to continue it. However, I'm going to get a bit in here and there to finish it. Before I begin, here are the links to the previous parts

Part 1: July 2011 Trip Report Part 1 of 4...Days 1-3: Arrival and Immersion into the parks
    Part 2: 4 Parks, 1 Day Adventure...July 2011 Trip Report Part 2 of 4 (Day 4: 7/23/11)
My photobucket album, with ALL of my WDW pictures: Pictures by seabreezeNHS - Photobucket
The pictures I post on here are just select pictures from this album

    So, HERE WE GO!

After essentially tiring the heck out of ourselves the previous day on the 4-park adventure, Sunday July 24 was a day of relaxation...sort of. Got to sleep in that morning, had lunch at the house a bit before noon. And after...it was off to Fantasia Gardens for some mini-golf. Again, my aunt dropped my cousin and I off for a couple hours. Since my cousin has an Annual Pass, we got 50% each round...so for 2 for the price of 1, we played both courses.

There was a bit of a line for the Gardens course, so we played the much more difficult Fairways Course first.

Such a fun...yet VERY difficult course to play. And horribly I played...and I'm a pretty good mini-golfer. I did win the course by I think 7 strokes. By the time we finished, the Gardens Course was clear and off to there we went to play. The daily posted record was 38, and my personal best on the Gardens Course was a 41. So I knew if I really pushed myself I could have a shot at it. And off to play the course we go

Must say, getting squirted with water out of these fountains felt good as the heat index was over 100 on this day.

    18th hole

Unfortunatley, I got off to a bad start, shooting an 11 through the first 4 holes. I settled down, and shot a 31 through the last 14, with only one hole-in-one along the way, though. That gave me a 42 for the course, one stroke off my personal best. I was pleased with that finish given my terrible beginning, and did win by 2 strokes despite a late rally by my cousin.

From here, we were exhausted, and soaked in sweat...it was back to the house to swim, relax, and get ready for dinner at night at Paradiso 37

I'm going to post here now, but continue on with the next part tonight. Hope you guys are enjoying so far!

    Re: July 2011 Trip Report Part 3 of 4...Days 5-7 (7/24-7/26)

After a relaxing afternoon, it was time to head out to Downtown Disney for our dinner reservation at Paradiso 37 for myself, my aunt and cousin. And our first stop, you guessed it:

After that, we decided to check out the remodeled Lego Store for a bit:

    My heroes:

And next up, dinner at Paradiso 37:

I got the From the Sea Platter for dinner. It was very good, to say the least.

    http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/...S/6c1d303b.jpg

View of the bar area from our table:

I really enjoyed my first time at Paradiso 37. My type of restaurant...laid back atmosphere, guy playing guitar and singing, lively bar area...definitely the type of place I'd hang out a lot once I'm 21. I would DEFINITELY go eat here again next time I'm down in Disney World.

After dinner, we decided to roam Downtown Disney a bit more. Starting with...yup, the signage is still there:

    And some more DTD pictures:

We left Downtown Disney around 8pm or so-ish, at this point I honestly don't remember times. But we did head over to the Beach Club to get some dessert at Beaches and Cream...one of my favorite little joints in all of WDW.

    The Beach Club Villas:

And, in to Beaches and Cream we go, in the takeout line:

I had a picture of the vanilla milkshake I got on my phone, but right now it's too much of a hassle to get it on here. If I get a chance I will add it. And the last picture of the day, of the Beach Club main entrance:

This was definitely a relaxing, but still enjoyable day off from the parks. The next day, Monday the 25th, it was off to Hollywood Studios. Stay tuned as I'm continually working on finishing my trip report now!

    Re: July 2011 Trip Report Part 3 of 4...Days 5-7 (7/24-7/26)

Day 6. Back to the grind...and when I say grind, I'm referring to the parks. And on this day it was off to Hollywood Studios. For some reason, Hollywood Studios always has the latest rope drop. My cousin and I walked through the turnstyles at about 9:00, and the rope drop ceremony was literally just starting. We had walked in the other parks before 9:00am and the park was already open. Anyway, this allowed a massive crowd to build for when they finally "dropped the rope," well after 9:05am (I guess it's not a big deal, just saying...but it always happens to me at DHS). And, where does the mad rush go, you guessed correctly:

Toy Story Mania. Luckily, we moved pretty efficiently through the fastpass line, and got a good fastpass time

Next stop: Rock n' Roller Coaster. Stand-by line, still only 10 minutes

We moved right through the queue, and right into G-Force Records

After getting off of Rock n' Roller Coaster, we went right next door to Tower of Terror. Total queue time: 10 minutes. At this point it was about 9:45am, and with my past experiences, Hollywood Studios was always mobbed the day I go, even this early. But not today, we had an enjoyable sparse crowd.

We then went and fastpassed Rock n' Roller Coaster so we could ride it again later on. It was after 10:05, so my claim that holding 2 fastpasses at once is in fact true (many friends who go less often beg to differ and don't know about it, but I have proof!):

Finally, a picture of the Sorcerer's Hat:

    MUPPETS!!!

Some pictures from the Streets of America, featuring New York and San Francisco:

Where art thou (rumored) Monster's Inc. attraction?

Alright, now the good stuff .....since Toy Story is my favorite movie(s)

I won! Pretty competitive, though...my cousin had beaten me last year, so I was able to extract some revenge

    More to come...right, now!

    Re: July 2011 Trip Report Part 3 of 4...Days 5-7 (7/24-7/26)

After Toy Story Mania, we just settled down a bit. Honestly, we already did everything we wanted to do, including just roaming the park for a bit, taking in all the sites. We took a breather in the Writer's Stop and enjoyed another Carrot Cake Cookie.

Funny enough, the cashier was from Clifton, NJ. Which is the town LITERALLY right next to mine (Nutley)! Crazy...we talked for about 10 minutes just about the area, she was asking about the progress of all the roadwork and what not in the area. She said she also had a lot of friends from my town...and I also have a few friends from hers. It was a pretty cool discussion.

    Some sights of Hollywood Studios:

A VERY BAD picture of me with Chip and Dale:

And now it was time to ride Rock n' Roller Coaster to wrap up the day.

After RnRC we were going to go eat lunch at the Backlot Express. However, there was a massive line to order, so we ditched that idea and headed over to the ABC Commissary.

I honestly don't remember this sign being there:

And by about 2pm we were done with Hollywood Studios. It was back off to the house to relax for a bit.

And that's it for now. I'll be back later on, where I will post about my eventful evening over at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and dinner at Sanaa. For now, hoped you guys enjoyed looking through this part of my TR!

    Re: July 2011 Trip Report Part 3 of 4...Days 5-7 (7/24-7/26)

Actually, I'm just going to do this now. This part is mostly going to be pictures, anyway. That's basically what happens when you're mesmerized by all the animals roaming around the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Anyway, we had a dinner reservation at Sanaa in the evening on the 25th. We got there a bit early to see the sights of the animals...and did we see. I had never been over to AKL, so this was quite awesome to see. Incredible, for lack of a better word. And to boot, quite a few giraffes close up...they're my favorite animal! Well, here y'all go with the picture-happiness of me at AKL (and remember to check out the photobucket album for even more pictures...it's all the way at the top of the thread).

The first few photos are from the balcony a few floors up in Kidani Village:

    WIN:

    EVEN MORE WIN:

Now, the next pictures are from ground level outside in the little promenade area in Kidani Village:

And now we're inside Sanaa. Man, this was quite the well-themed, and unique restaurant. I really enjoyed this.

    Table View:

My main entree (l-r): Spicy Chicken, Basamati Rice, Beef Short Ribs

Couple more table view pictures (and, yes, I got the giraffe from my seat)

Dessert: Chocolate Cake, with white chocolate on top and raspberry sorbet

Here's a video of a family of ducks walking in line after dinner outside. I thought it was really cool

70e9e679.jpg picture by seabreezeNHS - Photobucket

    And, back outside:

And the final picture of the day, from the gift shop area in Kidani Village. Sanaa was definitely one of the best meals I ever had in Disney World...even if the food was quite different then what I'm used to. Trying new things I guess can be fun! Still amazed by the sights of AKL, though.

Thanks for reading this part of my Trip Report. On the next installment...finally, my first full day at Magic Kingdom. And what a day that was. Always enjoyable there. Stay tuned...there's quite a bit to come later on!

Wow! You really lucked out the morning of DHS... FP for TSM then a walk on for RNR AND TOT. Sweet! We are never that lucky...

Normally I have no such luck at DHS...so I was very pleased. There was even a point mid-day, talking like around just after normal lunch time at 1:30 where TSM had ONLY a 30 minute stand-by. I was in complete and utter shock.

On that note...don't think I'm going to be able to post my next day now. Tomorrow, I wlll get to it when I'm more alert and awake. Keep checking because I will have it up sometime midday tomorrow!

Thanks! And thanks to everyone else. I'm just so far behind because I've been so busy. Especially the last week and this coming week I just have so much reading, homework and papers and what not. It's already getting a bit ridiculous. I promise I will finish it...I realize that it's getting pretty out-dated now, but I will get there. Don't worry!
