June 2012 Pre-Trip Report

With my trip being in 52 days, I figured I should finally post a trip report.

We have 7 people going this trip. My mom, dad, aunt, uncle, two cousins, and me. We're just short of a grand gathering :( My family is staying at Port Orleans French Quarter while my Uncle's family is splitting their time between Port Orleans Riverside and Beach Club.

We arrive on June 14 at 8:40am and leave on June 23 at 6:55am (I'm not looking forward to that morning flight.)

We are eating at a sit down restaurant every day. This is the first time we've done something like that and I'm very excited. We're using my Tables of Wonderland to help us get discounts at most of the restaurants. Where I can't use my Tables of Wonderland, we're using my Annual Pass discount.
The restaurants we are eating at are as follows:

Brown Derby (x2)
Mama Melrose's
Le Cellier
Mexico
Raglan Road
Via Napoli
Yak & Yeti
The Plaza Restaurant

We've never eaten at Raglan Road or Yak & Yeti. I'm excited to try those restaurants. Brown Derby is our favorite restaurant and we decided we wanted to eat there twice. On our first day there, and then in the middle of the week with the whole group!

We are a little hesitant on Epcot with Test Track being closed. I have the Lines app and have been checking it out religiously. The Soarin' fastpasses are going like crazy. We normally can ride Soarin' 5-6 times a trip with fastpasses.. but now we don't think that's possible.

We've always been a family that follows the fastpass return times, so we're not worried about that.

My mom has really bad knees and needs knee replacements but hasn't gotten them yet. Our family just learned about the guest disability pass which we are going to get, by recommendation by her pyhsician. That supposedly helps with waiting in lines, so we shall see. She doesn't want to get a wheelchair because 1.) she's stubborn and 2.) she wants to try and walk.

We're doing a fishing excursion on the Monday of our trip. We have a 7am reservation. This is a family tradition every time we're down there. I'm really excited to go again.

This will be my second trip with my DSLR and I've tried to do some research on taking pictures in Disney. If you have any advice on this, please let me know!

I hope this is enough for now. My family is very exact when it comes to planning our trips, so we have every park for every day planned already. I don't have that list with me so I can't remember what we're doing. I know most families don't like planning, but I do. I can't enjoy my vacation unless I have things planned. We aren't maticulous but we like to have things planned.

Thanks. I love planning trips! It's probably my favorite part of the whole vacation process!

I'm liking the list of restaurants there. Seems like a pretty good plan.

Funny thing...if I get down this summer, I may be there June 11ish-20ish.

I'll keep you posted on if I actually end up going then or not. If I do in fact make it down this summer, this is where it seems like it may be happening.

It's very possible you could be getting a message from me soon! :)

My trip has changed just a tad! We added another person to our trip.. which makes a total of 8! 8 people! So crazy! We had to change some of our reservation times but we're still eating at all of the same restaurants!

We're at 29 days now! I am so excited! Under a month!
