Pre-Trip Report: May 22-28, 2012 WDW Radio 40 Hour Trivia Contest

Hi again!! Well, it is only 20 days until my WDW Radio trip to Walt Disney World!!! I am soo excited!! Seems like just yesterday Lou was announcing that I had won 1 of the 2 40 hour show trips! And now, in just a little over 2 weeks, I will be back "home"!!

I have been planning what we would do this trip, not as much as my last trip in August, but to make sure we got our ADRs and a few other special activities in!


The crew: Me (Jamie), dd5 (Kayla) and Mom!
Resort: Port Orleans French Quarter
Dates: May 22-28th!
7 day Park Hoppers--Basic Dining Plan

Tuesday May 22nd--arrival date
6am flight out of Chicago & arrival in Orlando approx 9am
Check into our resort
Downtown Disney?
Via Napoli 4:30pm

Wednesday May 23rd-Magic Kingdom
Pirates League (Kayla) 11am
Crystal Palace 6:15pm

Thursday May 24th-Epcot
Le Cellier 1:05pm
The Garden Grill 7pm

Friday May 25th-DHS/Epcot
Biergarten 6:05pm

Saturday-DHS
Hollywood and Vine 12pm

Sunday-Animal Kingdom/Epcot/Magic Kingdom

8pm flight out of Orlando, connecting in Atlanta, then home to Chicago by 11:30pm

We are planning on seeing Yee-Ha-Bob one night, not sure when yet. I am also planning on meeting up with some of my Disney friends throughout the week...so excited!!

I have been debating too...last trip, Kayla wanted to go on the Astro-Orbitors, and I am very nervous about this ride, since it is soo high up! Has anyone riden it can offer some advice?

I have to go shopping this weekend sometime for some new shirts and bathing suits for me and Kayla. Possibly may have to buy a new carry-on bag for me! Gotta stock up on batteries for the camera and a new memory card or two...and possibly a new 2nd camera!

Looks like a great trip. If Astro Orbiter makes you nervous, ask Mom to ride.

my mom probably wouldnt do it either....

i am 32 and nervous...she is 29 you know :) and doesnt care for heights much....so i dont know if my 5 yo DD will get to ride. lol i will let u know

Can't believe that this time next week I will be in The Magic Kingdom, getting ready to take Kayla for her Pirates League makeover and then meeting my Mei/Mousefan agent Jan Pepe!!

Gonna start packing today after I use the afternoon to throughly clean Kayla's and my rooms!! (Hopefully I will find my Ipod...still missing)

I don't care for heights either. I have rode Astro Orbitor. It wasn't that bad. Good luck and have great trip!

sooo i wrote a post on here the other day but my computer got silly and decided not to post it. grr. 15 minutes worth of writing. *sigh*

anyways...it's the final countdown friends...3 days!!!!!!! I cant believe it!!

so...pretty much have everything except some memory cards for the cameras and my phone. gonna go out either later tonight or tomorrow to get those.

bought myself a couple new shirts and a light sweater...debating bout takin it back though...from what i understand its gonna be in the 80-90s all week i dont know if ill need it?? what do you think? its a cute white shorter sweater to put around my tops with the cable knit style (i think thats what its called) idk...gonna sleep on it. but i have everything else...new bathing suits for me and kay, new shirts, havent been able to find another pair of capris or even any shorts that i like...so hopefully 1 pair will suffice. good thing the resort has laundry machines right? lol so..kayla's bag is packed, just have to pack her backback with her workbooks, school papers to do, leapster, and her cool Yoda backbag that she is gonna take to SWW! I have to finish packing my bag, probably in the morning since I am finishing washing clothes. I told my mom, we may as well take an extra bag and check it just so we have extra room. Well, she still has to pack her carry ons so we will see,

just thought, have to pull out kays and my autograph books and pins and vinyls to trade. *sigh*

otherwise, we are about ready to go. gotta be at the airport early on tuesday morning, we have a 6am flight, so we have to be there bout 4am! fun times...*can you sense the sarcasm?* though it will be worth it to be in FL by 930am and on WDW property by 1130am (hopefully)

Well, I am going to try to finish a few things, then I think I am going to treat myself and go see the Avengers tonight...Kay is by her dad's for the night...and I havent been out myself in forever!! TTFN!!

oh ya....thinking of canceling my adr for biergarten on friday....we dont wanna really leave dhs with all the SWW stuff going on. dont really have a good day to add it either...so maybe we will try for a walk up?

see this is the hard part of tryin to plan ur adrs n plans....

I think that might be a good idea. Park-hopping for dinner reservations always feels so rushed. Who knows what fun you might encounter that you don't want to tear away from?

Either way, I'm sure you'll have an absolute blast. Wish I could be there to meet up with ya, again. I still have my purple gem from Princess Kay in my memory book. :)

aww u do? thats awesome. did i tell you she swolled hers a few months ago?? ya...that wasnt fun to deal with...tears and tears and tears! i told her we will hgave to let jasmine know and maybe she can get a new one when we go back. so keep your fingers crossed.

Ok, it's down to the last couple hours before we leave for the airport to get on the plane for WDW!!

I am going to sleep in a couple minutes...gotta be up by about 230am to get ready so we can leave by about 3/315am to get to the airport by 4am for our 6am flight. The only part thats hardest about getting down to WDW is the early flight and the extra time needed at airports for security. But its all worth it to be a little tired.

I keep thinking of the old commercial with the kids and the parents all saying too excited to sleep..thats how i feel. and how kay musta felt earlier she didnt wanna go to bed. she finally got to sleep bout 10pm.

we are all packed up, just gotta throw my laptop in my carryon and the charger, my cell phone charger too and my ipod cord. everything else is all ready to go. we are taking an extra bag for a couple things, and to have for our souviners. there is no way we would be able to put anything in our carryons. they are packed. and i tried to downsize us this trip, even plan on doing laundry, but still, 7 days is a long time. between clothes, swimsuits, shoes, medicine, tolietries, and electronics...its a lot. oh well, a $20 charge for a checked bag is worth it a guess right?? LOL

Printed up our boarding passes earlier at my best friends house, then found my memory cards for the cameras and phone. you know my old camera takes regular SD cards and they are only made in a 2mb now....kinda goofy, everything now is the sdhc...guess ill have to upgrade soon. but we should be good. i bought 4 for my camera, and the one for my moms holds like 4000 pics. and my phone should hold a lot too. just gotta figure out how the adapter works to upcload them. guess ill figure it out.
Well, next time I post I will be either on my way to WDW or at WDW so stay tuned ok?! heading to bed now....
