Re: Pre-Trip Report: WDW & DCL (Fantasy) WITHOUT the kids! October 16-29, 2012
:yahoo: Our kids start school on Monday, August 27th. They are probably wishing their summer vacation was longer. Me, I can't wait for them to get back to school!!! I am a SAHM. So, I've been with them 24/7 for the past two and a half months. I NEED A BREAK!!! I don't want to wish time away. But, this trip can't get here soon enough!!!
When I have stressful days, I keep my chin up and know I have this upcoming two week vacation away from all this chaos. :dizzy:

Castaway Cay 5K
My husband and I plan to do the Castaway Cay 5K. However, I haven't been training like I did the race we did last year during F&W. I'm injured. I have an appointment with an Orthopedic Surgeon this Friday. Wish me luck! Worst case scenario, I will be doing a 5K power walk. Does anyone know how much time they'll give me to finish? I want my medal!!! Do people walk and run or is it mostly runners???

CRUISE UPDATES:
Our TA has set-up a private martini tasting and mixology seminar for our cruise. I can't wait! There might be a little drinking done on this cruise! No one is driving and we don't have far to our stateroom. LOL!!!
:yahoo:We've been informed that some Halloween events will be going on while onboard (a costume party and trick-or-treating).
Re: Pre-Trip Report: WDW & DCL (Fantasy) WITHOUT the kids! October 16-29, 2012
FYI - I haven't abandoned this thread. I just got over knee surgery and have been trying to recover. I am on week two of physical therapy. It has been a slow and painful process. I am still relying on the use of one crutch to get around. At least it's progress. I was in sooooooo much pain that first week. However, the Hydrocodone was making me sick. So, I tried to wean off it ASAP and worked through the pain with just Advil and ice packs. Has anyone on here had knee surgery? Y'all know my pain!
With me still limping around, this trip IS still "on". I just may have to modify some of my activites and may have to rent an ECV for longer days in the parks. I have little to no cartilage in my left knee.

Re: Pre-Trip Report: WDW & DCL (Fantasy) WITHOUT the kids! October 16-29, 2012
I can't believe I'm down to a single-digit!!! So much still to do, so little time! I will run myself crazy leading up to the trip. Then, I'll sleep like a baby on the plane. zzzzzzzzz :faint:
So glad right now we chose Southwest instead of American. With all the flight cancellations and delays, I didn't need that looming over this trip. We plan to drive to the airport and do a Park and Fly. Bill found a great rate at one near our airport.

Bill & I plan to hit up Epcot's Food and Wine Festival upon arrival. With DVC, our room is NEVER ready when we arrive. So, we plan to check-in and hop on a Disney bus to Epcot. :yahoo:

Wanted to let y'all know that if you are a DVC Member, they are running a really good special on WDW Premium Annual Pass. ($399 + tax) Bill and I purchased ours and will pick them up in a few days!!! We've never been to the waterparks or DisneyQuest. Might just have to try them this trip!

Okay, we've been back a week and life is starting to get back to "normal". Time to get this trip report changed from a PTR to a TR.
First, let me tell y'all we were on the cruise that collided with Hurricane Sandy and you won't want to miss my account of this event. One word . . . scary!!!
More to come . . . :mickeykid
