Our Annual Triple Family Big Trip Report!!!! :)
Every year, my best friend, her husband and three kids, another friend, her husband and two kids, and I, my future hubby and two kids, all load up and caravan down south to Orlando for 10 days of magic, friendship, and more. We leave the Friday before Labor Day, and it's a great time to be at the parks, especially with such a great group of friends and Disney fans!!!! :grouphug:
I'm on countdown mode and likely driving all my non-Disney people friends (and perhaps even some of my Disney friends) crazy with my excitement and chatter about our trip! So, time to share with the people who can actually appreciate this!!!
Who's going:
Okay, there are 13 of us, ranging in age from 7 to 40-something, and hitting every decade in between! :chat: We have one official Disney kid (under 10) -princess-, four tweens (10-12) :lei::disney7::disney7::disney7:, two teens (13-18) :mickeywav:queen:, and six adults (18+) :minnie::minnie::minnie::mickeykid:mickeykid:micke ykid.
Where are we staying:
For the third year in a row, we will be staying at Port Orleans Riverside. My friends got preferred rooms, but for the first time, we will be staying in a Royal Room!!! http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dinin...taurant.Id=297I can't wait to see it and am super excited to be staying here. This year, I also want to take in a show with BOB!!! :yahoo:It's on my Disney must-do list.
Where are we eating:
We are on free dining and my BFF is a vacation planner, so we got some awesome ADRs. Here's the list:
Saturday - Chef Mickey's for Dinner
Sunday - 'Ohana for Dinner during Wishes :pixiedust
Monday- Cape May Cafe for dinner
Tuesday - Le Cellier Steakhouse for lunch
Wednesday - Les Chefs de France for dinner
Thursday - Mickey's Backyard BBQ for dinner =partytime
Friday - We're splitting up; My friends are going to Mama Melrose; We are going to La Hacienda de San Angel (the outside one on the water) during Illuminations
Somewhere in there, we're also going to stop by Polynesian for TONGA TOAST!!!!
What are we doing:
We haven't worked out parks and days yet, but every trip we have a list of things to do, and we keep a checklist of overall Disney must-dos.
On the list is riding all mountains in one day, which we can do now that Big Thunder is back open.
Also, Chris - my fiance- has never been to Discovery Island, which we are going to visit.
Oh, and we want to run on some of those jogging trails.:running:
Oh yeah, and we plan on visiting Blizzard Beach for the first time.:woohoo1:
Otherwise, four parks, ten days, thirteen friends! :epcot::mgm::AK::mk:
So the countdown is on.... less than two weeks to go!!!!!
:hurray::yahoo:

Wow, 13 of you!
Sounds like you have everything planned and you're going to have a blast!!
Re: Our Annual Triple Family Big Trip Report!!!! :)
Thanks! Yes, 13 is a lot, and it can get a bit crazy figuring out who gets in line where, but it's so fun being at Disney with a big group of friends. :-D
Re: Our Annual Triple Family Big Trip Report!!!! :)
Just added another ADR: O'hanas for breakfast! It'll be our first time eating breakfast there. :-)

Congrats on the trip! Sounds like it will be fabulous!
And wow! We were just at WDW in July with a group of 13 ranging in age from 5-51!
Myself, my DW, and our 3 kiddos, another couple and their 3, oldest DD's BF, oldest DD's BFF that surprised her at the airport, and youngest DD's BFF!
While we were there oldest DD was proposed to in front of The Castle on her 21st birthday, so now, BF is DFiance'...!
So many other GREAT things, as well, happened on the trip!
It was most MAGICAL, indeed!!!
Hope y'alls is AWESOME too!
Re: Our Annual Triple Family Big Trip Report!!!! :)
Wow! It sounds like you had a very magical trip, indeed! Congrats on the engagement; I love Disney because it is such an amazing, magical place, and it must have been a very awesome proposal. :-)
Thanks for the well wishes, as well. It's so close, and I'm soooooooo ready to go! My BFF and I talk everyday about our trip. I think we just might be even more excited than the kiddos!!!! :-)
Re: Our Annual Triple Family Big Trip Report!!!! :)
Omg! We leave in less than two days!!!! Yaaaaayyyyyy!!!!
Guess I better go pack now! It's supposed to rain like the whole time we're there, but a rainy day at Disney is better than a sunny day at home, I guess. :-)
Re: Our Annual Triple Family Big Trip Report!!!! :)
OMG!!! You trip sounds amazing... Looks like you have planned your days well.
We went to the Polynesian O'hanas for breakfast on our last trip in 2010 AWSOME!!! Is the best word to describe it.
As for Blizzard Beach ..... Take some footwear for the pools, it's so hot on the walk ways. Otherwise, go pack & have a MAGICAL TIME. I can't stop talking about my next visit.....
Re: Our Annual Triple Family Big Trip Report!!!! :)
Thanks! I'm glad to hear a good review of O'hanas breakfast. My son's been begging to this. We love Stitch, and even though he's 13, he's still excited about seeing him and Lilo. :-)
Thanks for the tip about Blizzard Beach! This is our first trip to a Disney waterpark. Can't wait for that, either!!!
Okay, so less than 24-hours till we leave. Ahhh!!! I've got sooo much to do! :-P
Re: Our Annual Triple Family Big Trip Report!!!! :)
Okay, so we are at Disney, and I just have to say the Royal Room is A-MAZ-ING!!!! It's just gorgeous! Well worth the difference in $!!!
Hollywood Studios today. Toy Story Mania Fastpasses first thing, then hello ToT and Rockin' Rollercoaster!
