I plan to go to the Magic Kingdom sometime in the next week.

I hope its not crowded again like MLKjrDay

It will be interesting to see progress on things.

Disney's updated website makes it not easy to see attraction closures at a glance or park times.

Okay, we just got back from the Magic Kingdom. I didn't want to go today because they close at 10 and forbid they give premium annual passholders a bone once in a while with some EMH that were tonight. Anyways, I had no other option since I'm summoned to an event tomorrow and I'm not renewing my passes until March.

So, we were held up on the monorail for almost an hour when we got there around 5pm. Stuck up there while they changed rails. So that cut into our MK time which was already short so we didn't get into MK till around 6ish.

We had fun, were only able to get one FP as it was every 2 hours $% whatever and I asked the CM at SM if the FP machine would still be working in 30 minutes, she said yes, all machines were still open at that time and should be in 30 mins. Came out of Carousel of Progress and the FP was closed at SM.

And the Rapunzels restrooms are still under construction.

And right around the corner before you enter HM was this pic below. Also a big crane in back of Cinderella's castle.

Did I mention most of the park had a terrible smell into the night. It must have been something to do with construction, but it smelled like something died.

Well Disney is launching a Paint style to the buses by June. That investment should solve the transportation issues.

You managed to do a great deal of touring in short order.

Yes, we did. I had no complaints except for the stench in the air all night and the delay. Of course I'll never like the FP issuance per 2 hours or more.

But lines weren't too bad obviously and we had a great time.

It was interesting to see the Hidden Mickey not in the Ballroom.

What are they doing by Cinderella's castle I wonder with the crane?

A crane is scheduled to be onsite at the Magic Kingdom's Cinderella Castle from 22 January through to 10 February 2013 for removal of the dream lights used during the holidays.

Do you have any idea if the construction was the reason for the stench all night. It smelled like something died or maybe it was gas fumes but the egg smell kind.

The first thing that came to mind was them hooking up the new restrooms due to open at the end of the month.
