We would definitely do the dining plan again (even if we had to pay for it!). We had all of our ADR's in advance, but did change a few when we got there. We found we were WAY too stuffed. I can say that I would arrange things a little differently with the experience under my belt. We would probably have our big meal at noon when possible and do the counter service at night instead of the other way around next trip. It just gives you more time to work some of that off before falling into bed. Or have the big meals on the early side of the evening instead of the later (when calling from WDW we ended up with MUCH later dining times most evenings than we would have preferred) and have a brunch instead of a lunch. Most places started serving lunch at 10:30. We would eat around then and have dinner between 5 and 6 instead of between 8 and 9. But again, we would do the dining plan again in a heartbeat (in fact, we were just having this conversation last night).

wow! great and detailed trip report...my dad has to watch his salt intake too(high blood pressure among other things) so my mom also cut back and they both are much more sensitive to salt/seasonings...a word about CSR, if you felt the walk from POP was long make sure you request a room close by otherwise you're going to have to walk to get to the main building/food court...but there are a few bus stops around the resort which was nice when you went straight to the park in the morning for breakfast...AKL is one of my all time fave resorts though(competing with Y&B)

We kind of got that feeling about CSR, but figured they had an internal bus system much like The Caribbean Beach Resort. It wasn't the walk to the food court at Pop that killed us, it was the walk from the bus stop to the room in the dead of the night (or the heat of the day).

oh yeah that can be rough! other then not being too close, my friend and i like it and had a great time there. that is one of the great things about staying on property, you can't really go wrong.

Day 10, Sunday, October 2:

We were so impressed with the Whispering Canyon Cafe that we decided to let them have our last two table service credits at breakfast on Sunday morning. Breakfast was more amazing than dinner. Our "appetizer" was a fresh fruit plate that was wonderful. Then we had steak and eggs. For "dessert" they brought us a basket of bakery goods. The cinnamon rolls were the best we have ever had. My husband said they were even better than Cinnabons! He can't wait to go back just for the cinnamon rolls!

Remember I said that Wilderness Lodge was on the list of possible places to stay next trip? Until we ate at The Whispering Canyon Cafe Mr. iwannabeminnie always wanted to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. But "if we stay here we can have cinnamon rolls everyday!"

Then back to the Pop Century to get on the Magical Express to go home. WAAAAAAA! I hate leaving, but I was a little concerned about my cat being home alone for so long. We finally made it home after what seemed forever (the drive from Indy home is longer than the flight from Orlando to Indy). The weather was beautiful and mild, kind of a welcome relief from the heat of Orlando and the Colts were kicking booty! Not a bad welcome home, still I'd rather be in Florida.

Grrreat report!!! With this cold and gloomy weather in Indiana I wish I were back in Florida, and especially WDW!!! Now I'd better get going and write Part III of my report--sooner rather than later.

Love love love the report my friend. Now got to go home so the children can finishing reading it.The children and I stay at the AKL on our last trip and let me just say if you love animals and that whole being in a jungle feel you will like it. I thought the resort was beautiful and the rooms were a little dark but nice just the same. But I still love the Poly I guess the whole being on the Monorail just make me love it even more. I'm surprise you didn't enjoy Mama Melrose that much. The DBF and I went in Nov last year there and love the food. I don't think I'm taking the girls but I do want to check out FWL becasue I do want to stay there. But once again great trip report.

So, what do you think was your longest wait in line? Is that week a totally awesome week to go to Disney? I have planned to go May 11-19...but am a little concerned because Mother's Day is in there somewhere. I would hate to take my kids out of school right after it starts, but am thinking that your line wait time sounded incredible.

Also, are the Incredibles gone at MGM? My almost-3-year-old was really looking forward to meeting them. I don't think Chicken Little would excite him as much. Is there anything "Incredibles" themed at WDW?

We didn't wait in any lines. There were NO lines the week we were there. We walked on to everything. Of course, as I said we did ALL the Extra Magic Hours and used Fast Pass some, but Fast Pass was really not necessary (the only time we needed it was when we rode Soarin' after lunch). During the afternoons and early evenings we really didn't ride. We either napped or ate (and we did a LOT of eating!)
