Yep, we ran into a family from our area on an E-Ride Night...but that's about it.

On our last trip tp WDW, I think we ran into more Brits than Americans.

I've even run into people I knew crossing the street in Times Square in NYC...not once, but twice in the same afternoon. Very bizarre...

    Yes...

(Uh oh... another long-winded Lou story on its way)

I actually ran into a girl I knew a little bit from the town next to where I lived. I actually knew her sister better (as we dated a little bit... OK maybe once or twice). It's truly a "small world" (there's that darn song again, with Lou singin' like crazy).

Next thing you know, we're hanging out in WDW all day and night, until I took her back to her hotel (God only knows how far down I-4 or whatever forsaken road I was on) after Pleasure Island closed for the night.

And yes, we actually, um... dated (yikes) a bit (too long) when we got back.

Before I moved here I ran into the neighbor a few houses down. Neither of us knew the other was there.

I guess since I started this I'd better share my story. We were at EPCOT eating at the American Adventure and lo and behold there are some neighbors who used to live three houses down, but moved all of three blocks away, but hadn't seen for years. Had to travel 1,032 miles to talk to them.

Lou, you never cease to amaze me!

Jiminy, no, never in WDW. We did however, run into a family we met on the plane down several times throughout the week.

Mandabella.... We had a similar experience in NYC! Small world indeed.

    It's a Small World!

Well, this incident happened to us last year, and it really freaked us out!
We spend a lot of time at Who Wants to be a Millionaire, even after one of us gets into the hotseat, and our May, 2003 trip was no different. On our last day of the trip we were in the audience, and there was a couple behind us that seemed 'experienced' in the game. Sure enough, one of them made into the hotseat, and we started up a conversation with the other one and found out they were locals that came to the parks often, and had tried many times to win that cruise! So, we go to the next show, and the other half of the couple gets into the hotseat. Neither of them won the cruise that day, but it was enjoyable talking to them, and we told them we would probably see them again at WWTBAM. We were right, in a strange way!
Linda and I took a trip to San Diego and Disneyland in Sept. of 2003, and made our first trip to California Adventure, and of course we had to go to their version of WWTBAM. After a couple of shows, we noticed someone familiar in the audience. It was the couple from Florida that we had met back during our May trip! We just couldn't believe it. I mean, what are the chances? They were especially freaked out when we told them we were not Floridians, but from Virginia!
It IS a small world after all!

What a bittersweet story. I agree there is a reason for everything is life.

We have run into some people we know while at WDW on a couple occasions. It is pretty funny. Of course we often are there for Jersey Week...so that does increase the chance of meeting someone I know a bit, I guess. lol

Now, my Aunt and Uncle had a French exchange student that they took to WDW with them. While they were there, she ran into her neighbors! That was too crazy!

    Unplanned meetings

I ran into a fellow classmate at Magic Kingdom back in 5th grade.
A fellow high school classmate stayed at the Polynesian during my stay there.
While vacationing with my aunt several years ago, she ran into a co-worker at MK.

Just last visit: first, in the Long Island airport, we run into the daughter of one of our neighbors and her family, also on their way to WDW on the same flights both ways as we are.

Then, on our first day, first ride on the monorail, who gets into the same car as us but the Librarian from our local children's library. We had seen her all summer long, as she led the story time for toddlers my son was in, and then there she was at Disney! Wild coincidence!

Almost every time I have been to WDW with my family we met people from my home town. (Which is small, about 7,000 people).

Once I ran into a classmate from my high school who I did not know had moved down and was working in the parks. That was a double take.

Now, though, it's inevitable that I'll meet many friends and people from my past as I enter the MK and make my way up Main Street.

Once I was waiting for the 3:00 parade to start and struck a conversation up with a random family picked at random from everyone else on Main St.

Turns out they live a block and a half from my home back in NY (didn't believe me until I proved it. They thought I was kidding. Guess they didn't see it tacked on to my shirt)

(And I'm not going to count when my family purposely met friends from home down at WDW)
