Hurricane Francis and my vacation
Hi Everyone!!! Just got back from the castle last night and figured i better post a report.
We were in the world from August 29 - Sept 7, we had to add two more days on because of hurricane francis. We arrived in Orlando at 12pm and got to POP Century Hotel at 2pm and got into our room right aways which was in the '70's building room 6109 on the ground floor. Walking to our room we notices a nice stingray corvette which i wanted to take with me but it would not move. They have a nice splash area for the kids right in front of the car.
After unpacking and looking at all the literature they gave us at check in we headed over to Olivia's which is over at Old Key West for dinner, we had the conch chowder, stuffed shrimp and crab cake appetizers which were very good. Onto Epcot to watch American Vibe at the American pavilion at their last performance, then watched illuminations and rode test track.
Day Two Magic Kingdom: As we went in we were going to go right through the castle but that was blocked off for Cinderella's show so we waited 10 minutes and watched it. Then on to Mickeys Philharmagic which i totally liked alot. :) We then made our way through all the rides in fantasyland, then went to Mickey's toontown to see the big cheese but could not find him. Then onto tommorowland were we rode space moutain, buzz lightyears space ranger spin, then onto the ride in the sky (can't think of the name). After we finished that we went to the AAA lounge located in tommorowland and had a free soft drink the was included in our package. By the that time is was 3pm and the parade was about to begin. After the parade we went back to the resort and swam and came back to the magic kingdom for the fireworks which were beutiful.
Day 3: We went to Typhoon Lagoon from 10-3 came back to the resort to get ready for Mickeys backyard BBQ which i would totally recommend because it was so much fun. On the way back they did not do the water parade because of lighting in the area.
Day 4: MGM Studios were we did rockin roller coaster, tower of terror, beauty and the beast show, the great movie ride, star tours, indiana jones. We then had dinner at the prime time cafe. On this day MGM closed at 6 so we didn't see fantasmic.
Day 5: Epcot we did all the things in innoventions like the baseball swing analysis, ride a bike in the rose bowl parade. Headed over to Mission:Space and Test Track. We never had to use fast pass at any of the parks because there was never a line for anything.
Day 6: Animal Kingdom headed to dinosaur which was cool. then went on primeaval whirl (an got disneyer than what we already are) Went to see Tarzan Rocks!, then headed over to the safaris. When we got back to our resort we had to go to the food court and get non perishable goods because hurrican francis was on its way and the food court was closing early.
Day 7: We had to stay in our rooms from 6pm friday to 5:30pm saturday because of the hurricane. All of the parks were closed on saturday and sunday and so was orlando airport. So we had to add on two days to our trip because the airport didn't open until late monday with no flights going to buffalo. When i added the two days the person at the front desk was so friendly that since we couldn't use our park passes on saturday she gave us some from monday if the parks opened (if they didn't the passes were good until 2024)
Day 8: no parks open at all what a long rainy day at the resorts
Day 9: Magic Kingdom to do lou's favorite Frontierland and liberty square and the shows that we missed.
It was fun but glad to be home right now, got picked on at work this morning that i brought the rain with me.
Have a great day!!!!
