Yes! In fact it is a mistake for anyone to ever go again until I get to go!! So Lets have a boycott until I can go. It's only fair!!! In all seriousness, I have no clue
I have been planning a trip to the world with my best friend for a while...just booked an off property hotel today and shortly after booking it.. realized it was a HOLIDAY WEEKEND!!!! eeee gads.... Have I made a terrible mistake? Anyone have experince going then? Will I be completely overwhelmed by crowds?

Can't speak for Memorial Day, but I did New Years Eve (MK) 1987 and New Years Day (Epcot), and never will again. It was certainly an experience, especially after being so used to the off season. Sure, the crowd and the moment added an extra bit of magic to the air, along with the TV cameras and stage shows in front of the castle, but never again. We ended up sitting on the beach at the Polynesian for a few hours in the afternoon just to get away from it all - also made a good time for me, the elected tour director, to go (off-site) and check in to hotel so we wouldn't have to do it at 2am. We actually rode quite a few rides right around midnight when everyone else was out with the countdown & fireworks. New Years Day was calmer at Epcot, but just plain over crowded. And this was 20 years ago!
Another holiday for me? Nope.
I would expect Memorial Day wouldn't be quite as busy, but...?
IMHO there is never a bad time to go to WDW! I've been there Memorial Weekend before and yes it's busy, but knowing and accepting that it's going to be before you get there is half the battle!Have fun!
You know what - you are going to Disney World!!!
Sure, you will have to deal with large crowds, but if you go in with that in mind - and even a battle plan, you will be fine!
Research the hours, the EMH's, the largest crowds for the MK tend to be on Saturdays, so go to another park that day.
All in all - just have fun - you don't HAVE to do everything....
I agree! Isn't better to go and do whatever you can than sit at home and think...gee, we could have gone to WDW? Pack plenty of patience and sunscreen. We went one year for July 4th. I have to admit that I probably won't do that again unless I get an offer I can't refuse, but I'd rather go and have to deal with crowds rather than not go at all.

What will you celebrate?
Adult daycare for the kid inside you.
In 2005, we were there for Memorial Day weekend, the following week, and Gay Days during Star Wars Weekends and Flower and Garden Festival. Yes, it was crowded but I found it very doable and did everything we wanted to do. We had a great time, and I'd go that time of year again!![]()

I'll be down there during Memorial day weekend also, I think the biggest crowd level during that weekend is an 8, so I'm hoping it wont be that ridiculous.

Thanks guys - We're taking my two year old - so most of the really long line rides are out of our league anyways! I'm sure we'll have a blast - keep an eye out for a trip report in the near future!!
