we are going but were going Nov2
Hi all,
My 12 yr old son and I are going to the world Oct. 11 - 17th and I was wondering about the Mickey's Not So Scarey Halloween. Has anyone been? Is it worth the extra money? Would a 12 yr old enjoy it? Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you![]()

I went with my gf last year, and I don't think we were in the right mood for it. But everyone around us seemed to be having a lot of fun. Main Street is all decked out in purple and green lights, there's special parades and special fireworks (though last year they played the "special" fireworks even on non-party nights, somewhat reducing their specialness). Darn near everyone (kids and adults) were dressed up. There are trick-or-treat locations throughout the park, and a stage show featuring the villians. I'd say it's a fun thing to do, at least to try it once. I'm not sure I personally would go back, at least until I have some kids to take with me. . .
I spoke to a CM to find out information...if parent pay admission also..Of course yes, Duh.
Well, she told me if you arrive at 4:00PM for the event of 7:00pm to midnight you can enter the park without using a hopper or base ticket that day.
So you can party from 4:00PM to midnight without a park ticket, using the event ticket.

If he likes the ripp em scar up up stuff, check into Universal's Fright nights. The park is closed early and the tickets are for the fright night only holders. I heard they are having a Harry Potter thing this year, there is lots of foggy stuff, I did not go, but noticing as I was exiting and it was about to start.

MNSSHP is a fun night. Just be aware that some of the rides are closed. I was really surprised at the number of families, dads included, that were dressed in costume. It's the only time adults are allowed to wear a costume into the park. The first time we went we spent a bit of time getting candy at the various locations around the park, but the second time we went we spent more time just riding attractions. Tickets are limited, so the crowds are lighter than regular admission times. The atmosphere on Main Street is very festive.
