I was about 2 weeks away from my 5th birthday.
I thought it would be interesting to see how old everyone was their first time trip to WDW. Obviously, we all thought it was amazing, thats why we obsess over it on this site, but what was your age and feelings that first time??
Me, myself I was 4 years old in 1985, my first trip with my mom and dad. I have a wonderful mother who actually saved ALL of my tickets, maps, and airline tickets from that first trip. I will have to scan them and get them on here shortly. They bring a tear to my eye everytime I see them...lol. Lost innocence and youth I suppose.
My husband, Joe was 26 his first trip. Not only his first WDW trip, but his first trip on a plane. Needless to say, the look on his face was priceless as we drove from the hotel to Magic Kingdom that day. He just kept cursing his parents for not ever taking him there as a child...lol.
How about everyone else???
I was eight...2nd grade...even though I've been many times since then, I will never forget that first magical trip!
When you believe in a thing, believe in it all the way, implicitly and unquestionable.-Walt Disney
I was three, I don't really remember it though, i have been so many times, the trips all run together. I do remember when the sky buckets used to be there and mr. toad's wild ride and horizons, I miss those rides :-(
I was 4 my first time... I do not remember much.... but thank goodness my parents have taped every trip since then... because now I can look and see how much fun I have... The one thing I remember actually happening (we have it on tape as well) In MGM, one of the actors came up and started interacting with us and since my dad had a video camera was playing off that and stuff.. it was funny and a great experience... totally impromptu.. I do not see the Impromptu stuff as much anymore and I miss them
My parents wouldn't even think about taking us. So I was 24 my first time. Went with my new wife and her family. We went alone the next year. Then we didn't go untill we brought our kids in 2005! That was the year Disney became an absolute obsession for us (hence my Disney05 name). We've been going every year since.
