Need Clarification on Reservation Policy
Okay so I picked up Birnabum's 2009 Walt Disney World Guide today; I had made room reservations earlier this year for June 2009 and am going to convert to a full vaca pkg here soon. BUT... the book says that you must pay for your Magic Your Way Base Pkg in full upon reserving and I was told by the nice reservations specialist earlier this year that I would need to have it paid in full 45 days prior to my arrival. SOOO now I'm confused will I need to pay for it all in full when I convert to an actual package or like the reservations specialist said 45 days in adavance? Any help would be much appreciated!

Room Only:
one night's deposit at time of booking
full balance due at check in
Package:
$200 at time of booking
full balance due at 45 days prior to check in
The book is wrong, if it's telling you you need to pay the full balance at time of booking. That's simply not correct, unless either (A) the full balance is less than or equal to $200, or (B), you book less than 45 days before check-in.

bcmom,
Very respectfully, I'll bet a case of Mickey bars that you read the book incorrectly. As mritty alluded to, you probably read that if you convert your room-only reservation into a package reservation less than 45 days prior to your arrival, then you have to pay in full at the time of the reservation. This is because if you were to book a package, the payment terms are that the total balance is due in-full no later than 45 days before arrival.
