Re: Disney Bride - Sea Breeze Point

Yeah more updates! I caught my DF's cold so I've been trying to take it easy, luckily I have the power of the internet at my disposal. :surfweb:

I've ordered some of my BM's gifts, taking advantage of some great deals. I've ordered this cuff which will be personalized with each girl's name:

This mini-photo holder in blue, which will also be personalized with each girl's first initial:

And then I bought their jewelry which I think will add just enough of that Disney touch without being over the top:

And then I just off the phone a while ago with Rosie from Disney's Event Group! She was so nice and easy to talk to. We talked about our floral and photography. I'm planning on doing my own bouquet (I was leaning toward silk ivory roses with the peacock feathers, but now I might do just all feathers  ) and Rosie said since I'm doing my own bouquet that I could substitute the bouquet that comes with the package for the BM bouquets. I'm not sure what we'll do for them yet since I don't know what dresses they've picked, but we'll probably do all ivory roses. Then my DF's bout will be an ivory rose with a peacock feather, and the two groomsmen will just be ivory rose bouts.

We're also doing the solid ivory chair covers with alternating between royal blue and teal satin sashes:

Other than the chair covers we aren't doing any other decor at SBP except for petals on the aisle. I love the way SBP looks as it is with the rustic wood and the water in the background.

We're also all set as far as photography. We have Amy listed as our top choice for our photographer for both the EPCOT session and the wedding itself, although Rosie said it's still to early to really try and guarantee her but she is at the top of our list. Rosie said that DPS is really trying to get more into a mix of traditional and artsy photography which makes me really happy. From what I've seen of Amy's work, I think she'll do a fantastic job. We're going to forgo getting the proof book and the online photo listing and just purchasing the high-res disk with all our pictures so we can print our own.

I think that's it for now. DF and I are going to his parent's this weekend for Easter and we're going to go over plans for the at-home reception so I'll probably have more when we get back!

I'm getting married! :woohoo:

Re: Disney Bride - Sea Breeze Point

Sorry for the lack of updates, something's wrong with my internet connection so my wireless is iffy at the moment

Anyways, I had a busy weekend! Chauncey and I went to his parent's house for Easter weekend which was great to visit since they live to far away (3 hours one way  ) Since we're having the at-home reception up there, his mom has been a great help since I'm not familiar with the area. We got to visit the church where the reception will be held. It has this big room which is shaped like an octagon which is pretty cool. And then another multi-purpose room that'll be used for my bridal shower in August. It's a good thing we're waiting a bit after the wedding to hold the reception, cause we also worked on the guest list and it's already at over 200 people! Granted a good 10-20% won't show up but still, it's gonna be a party!

We also had some time to work on designing some stuff for the wedding. I put together the wedding programs:

And then Chauncey designed the save-the-dates for the reception:

We also got the addendum for our contract to add the desert party to our BEO so I'll be sending that back to Kathleen with our signatures some time this week. And we have our plane tickets! A friend of my mom's bought our tickets as a wedding present so that's one less thing we have to worry about purchasing.

That's it for now!

Wow sweetie. Congratulation! You've got it all planned out! Looks great! My fiance and I got engaged just a few months ago, January 21st 2009 (in front of the magic kingdom... almost too picturesque). I an in the midst of planning a WDW wedding and even though they make it simple, I am overwhelmed.

Do you plan on having any type of a reception for the people who couldn't come, when you get home? I am debating that.

xoxo

Re: Disney Bride - Sea Breeze Point

Wow so neat to see other's who are doing the WDW wedding! I just got engaged in December and we have set the date and deposit for a wedding a exactly a year from our proposal at the Yacht Club Gazebo. We are so excited and I trying to let WDW do most the planning (I wish I had the time to do more of my own planning but oh well). I think I am most excited about having all my friends and family in the parks with us. I've got all plans in place and now I am just waiting! The suspense is too great.

All of your plans look amazing!

Yes we are planning a reception at home, that's what the mock-up Save-The-Date is for (although it still needs some working on before we send them out). I've seen some girls who hated the idea of an "at home" reception but I personally love the idea. We really want to be able to celebrate with all the people who won't be at the wedding so it's a no brainer for us. As for being overwhelmed, my best advice is do your research. I started scouring the internet before we were even engaged and found quite a few sites so when it time to making choices I knew what I was facing. If you want any links just let me know!

Thanks! We had thought about the YCG but once we saw SBP in person we knew it was the best spot for us (DF loves lakes and anything to do with water, plus I love having the pirate ship at Stormalong Bay across the way at the BC since I'm a HUGE pirate fanatic ) The suspense is killing me too, but it'll be here before you know it!

Re: Disney Bride - Sea Breeze Point

Time for more updates.

We got the addendum off to Kathleen so now we're set for the desert party.
As soon as it gets signed we can work on the menu. Right now we're just waiting to finalize the guest list and I've been a busy bee ordering stuff off the internet (and then waiting oh so impatiently for it to arrive :rotfl.

The bridesmaid gifts came in the mail a couple of weeks ago:

Along with my veil:

And then we ordered this tie for all the guys:

And then DF is going to order these cufflinks for the GM gifts:

I've also hit up Goodwill and found these for our toasting flutes (99 cents a piece!):

And these for potential containers for the candy buffet for the at-home reception:

That's about it for now. One of my bridesmaids is visiting next week and then my other BM will up up to visit at the end of May. This will be one of the few times I'll get to see either of them before the wedding and I can't wait to see either of them.

Now we're waiting for Disney to release the park hours for December so we can plan what parks we'll be in and also do some tours. I've been trying to find out how far ahead you can book tours, but I can't seem to find a definitive answer. Can anyone help me out there?

Everything looks great so far Rachel! It's really great that it's coming together so nicely!! Enjoy your home receptions. I think it's a great idea to celebrate with people who weren't able to come to the wedding!

Thanks Jeanne! We're both really happy about how everything is coming together (now if only time would go a little faster ) I've heard of other destination brides hating the idea of a home reception, but I'm really into the idea (of course that may be just because I get more cake )
