I am really excited about an opportunity I get to take. I get to present some research I did. It will be my first chance to do something like this. And even more exciting, the conference is at the Swan/Dolphin resorts. Now my work will pay for the 4 nights of the convention but I will be staying 2 more nights. I just have to decide where.
Now I have stayed at several resorts already. In fact, I was a bit surprised when I started listing them but I need ideas of where you think I might stay for those 2 nights. I wil be staying by myself during that time so there are some options.
Can you suggest a place? And give me the "why" of your choice? Thanks!
I have stayed at All Star Movies/Music, Pop, POR, POFQ, Grand Floridian, Contemporary, Boardwalk, and Wilderness Lodge.

I chose Pop Century, it's cheap, so you can have more money to spend in the parks, but if I had to chose a deluxe, I'd vote for Wilderness Lodge. Have fun!

Coronado Springs...there is a lot to do there even if you are by yourself, you're close to AK, and I believe you are close to the Swan and Dolphin *(I think)*.

I would normally suggest the Yacht & Beach Club, but since you will have already stayed at the Swan/Dolphin (which is in the same area), I say try a different area of the World.
If you need to take a cheaper route, my vote would be the Pop Century. I love, love, LOVE this resort!! How can you not love a three story Big Wheel? And did I mention cheap?
Of the moderate resorts, I would choose the Port Orleans - French Quarter. I think this resort is just beautiful!! It is also the smallest moderate resort, which gives it a very intimate feel (something you really don't get in most of the resorts).
Deluxe -- For a total change of pace, give Animal Kingdom Lodge a try!! Spring for a Savannah room so you can wake up with the giraffes and gnus!

Old Magic Kingdom Tour Guides never retire -- we still tell people where to go and what to do!
Good ideas! I have one night before the convention and two after. So I could stay at 2 places with the Swan/Dolphin in between..... decisions, decisions. Another option is to stay off property at our time share. It isn't the magic though but it would be "free."
I intend on staying the last two night at least in another hotel. Thus the poll. Pop sure is a great idea since I won't be in the parks too much of the time (but it won't be the same without Tracy).
Nothing ever is...and they closed our bar
I will suggest Pop if you dont want to spend that much money. That is my favorite Value resort. For moderate I would say Poly. It is so beautiful. Deluxe I will say Saratoga Springs even though it is not on your list.It is so pretty. It is close to DTD so you can do a bit of shopping and it is really relaxing.

I'd suggest Yacht and Beach or Boardwalk because I love Epcot and the Studios. Having each within walking distance would be ideal.
I know I'm a poor replacement for Tracy, but I'm willing to give it a shot. I vote for the Poly...I've only been inside as far as the lobby, and if a "friend" is staying there I have a better chance to at least see the inside of the room. I, too, like Pop Century. That would free up spending money for more important things (as would the time share).

What will you celebrate?
Adult daycare for the kid inside you.
Hopefully we can together one day- and you aren't a poor replacement as neither of you could be replaced! Pop and the time share are the cheapest choices, that's for sure!
I'd stay at the Beach before and Poly after.

Well...I guess my questions are:
Do you want to be closer to the MK or Epcot/MGM or AK?
If MK, I vote Poly because it's the only monorail resort I have ever had a passing interest in maybe staying at one year. Plus, you can get a dole whip there.
If you want to stay in the Epcot resort area, either BoardWalk, Beach, or Yacht Club. Does Stormalong Bay interest you? I know you've stayed at the BW, have you done Beach/Yacht? Do you want someplace new?
If you want to be near AK, go AKL and get a savanna view...hey it's only two nights...get the most out of it! Plus, I've always wanted to stay here and I can live vicariously through you if you do.
If you are going for cheap, Pop works.

always plotting, planning, and looking forward to our next adventure...
The cheap part of me says- timeshare. My only expense really will be meals and these two nights worth of hotel room. So timeshare is paid.
The Disney Lover of me would love to stay on property and drink in all of the wonderment. So now I just have to figure out how much that is worth to me! My daughter keeps telling me not to stay at the Polynesian since she wants to be taken for her trip- alone time with mom- and stay there. I keep looking back at pictures and I am not sure I want AKL. So if someone has been there, what makes that one so special- other than animals?
