March weather??

My family is planning a trip to The World during my Soring break, the 2nd week in March, like March 5th or 6th to the 13th (my birthday!)...March is one time of the year that we have never gone down to Disney, so im just curious as to what the weather is going to be like. We've gone in April for the past idk how many years due to my Spring Break before i was in college, and its always MAD hot...well, compared to the weather in April here in New Jersey, and i just recently came back from a trip with my friend about a month ago (torrential downpours the ENTIRE week)....can anyone help me out? Its not urgent, but im jsut curious as to how Florida usually is in March

March is still the dry season here, so you shouldn't have a problem with rain. It's starting to get warm but not hot, very pleasant. In fact it's probably one of the best times of the year weather-wise.

It also is around the time when crowds start picking up. Colleges and local schools are starting to have spring break that time of year, and Easter is a big week or two for crowds.

Re: March weather??

thanks for the info!! Yeah, i figured that it would be semi-crowded due to college spring breaks, so that's to be expected. I can deal with the crowds..it cant be any worse than it was a few years ago when i went during my spring break in middle school..it was a 3 or 4 hour wait for Space Mountain...ive delt with the worst, so it can only go up from there! Im excited taht the weather whould be nice..my family really cant take the intense heat, so like 70s is perfect!

Re: March weather??

I was there during the first week in March this year and I think the best way to describe the weather is "unpredictable." When we went in December, I packed several different layers becasue I didn't know what to expect, but never had to wear anything but shorts and t-shirts all week. So, in March, I only packed one sweater and one pair of jeans thinking that would be more than enough. Wrong! I massive cold front came through just before we left and it was very cold - barely reaching 60 during the day for the first 3-4 days. To give you an idea, it was so cold the second night we were there that we were able to get a front row seat for IllumiNations 5 minutes before it started and had plenty of room on either side of us! We even needed to get hot chocolate that night to warm us up while walking around WS, and I had to buy another sweatshirt on the third day because I had worn mine for two straight days (even during the day!). However, by the end of the week, it was in the mid to high 80s and I got a sunburn when we rented Sea Raycers for a hour.

That being said, I would definately check the weather in the days leading up to your trip to see what you'll be dealing with - you'll be much more comfortable if you do!

Re: March weather??

1 of my sisters and her family go down every march for 1-2 weeks. She has never complained about rain, usually very little or none while there. And temps can go from 50's to 80's. This past March I dont think it went above 60f the whole time they were there.

Re: March weather??

I went the first full week of March this past year, and I have to say it was the best time of the year to go. The crowds were low and the temperture was nice (a little cool at night.) We walked on to many rides in five minutes lines. We also went during the week, and not on the weekend, so that may have something to do with it as well. I would definiately go around this time again if possible.

Our biggest problem was the snow storm on the East coast. No snow in western NY (suprisingly) and no weather problems in Orlando, just everywhere in the middle. Our original flight was cancelled and we didn't end up getting there until later the next day. So just be prepared for something like that.

Re: March weather??

thank you all so much for your inputs! Ill be sure to pack a sweatshirt and a pair of jeans or two....I've been looking at the weather report (well, as much of it as i can get), and it looks like its going to be sunny and in the 70s, which is really exciting. I DONT like being hot, but this is probably going to be perfect for us...pleasant during the day and nice and cool at night......i CANT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
