Christmas at DisneyWorld

Just made reservations for the family for DW. 12/23/2009 - 12/28/2009. Really excited to be there for Christmas Day. Does anyone have any special tips for Christmas?

One tip- get to the parks EARLY! And be prepared to stay there all day (especially if you have a reservation of some sort later in the day), because the parks can fill to capacity (and you won't be let back in, even if you have the reservation).

It's on our to do list. We've never gone in December.

I found that the only days that were crazy were Christmas day at MK and then almost everywhere on New Years. Those were the only days where parks were closed.

If staying on property, I would go back for a swim or nap or go to DTD in the afternoon. Well, that is what we did. We left after lunch. We got a lot of rides completed this way.

Anyway, we had a great time and enjoyed all of the holiday decorations. Take some time to go visit the monorail hotel decorations. Wilderness Lodge is amazing at Christmas as well as Grand Floridian's Gingerbread House. So much to see and do! Have a great time!

Disney tour on Christmas and New Year Eve is really worth visit. Last year my family and I spent two weeks at WDW and really enjoyed (Christmas and New Year Eve) and at that time WDW was really busy but not packed out. You can enjoy this time at WDW as you want.

Largest crowd I have ever experienced was on Dec. 23. Most fast passes were gone early in the morning. I did fast pass Test track at ten in the morning and my time was a eight at night. Three hour stand by line for soaring, but a true Disney fan should attend during the Christmas season.

I've never been at Christmas but if I were to go I would want to see all the Christmas storytellers in World Showcase in the different countries.

The storytellers are awsome. Last year I spent one day just seeing them all (taping each show).

My advice? Unless you're prepared to ride only a handful of rides each day, stay away from the parks during that week.
