Re: Going to Disney with a first timer!

not sure about the construction, I read that the groundbreaking is in 2010 but it didn't say when in 2010 and it would last for 3 years. Also if it was me and if I got Cinderella's Royal Table, I would drop Tony's and keep Le Cellier. You'll need something in Epcot and LeCellier is far superior to Tony's IMHO.

Re: Going to Disney with a first timer!

Going in May, you shouldn't have to worry about much construction from the Fantasyland expansion. Most of the major construction/closures shouldn't occur until the Fall. As for your Resort question, I would go with Port Orleans Riverside. My family and I stayed there last Feb and loved it!! The scenery and theming are fantastic. They have Boat transportation to Downtown Disney available. And there is lots of open space for taking a leisurely stroll, as well as watercraft options available for rental. As for dining options, I recommend Tony's Town Square, Cinderella's Royal Table, and Grand Floridian Cafe. The Grand Floridian Cafe is a beautiful restaurant, and it's pretty inexpensive (especially for being at The Grand Floridian!) If your at Magic Kingdom and looking to break away for a little while, The Grand Floridian Cafe is just a quick monorail ride away! From the other side of the spectrum, if you don't mind spending a little $, then I HIGHLY recommend The Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show. We do this one every time we go to WDW. It's a Luau Show located at The Polynesian. Performances take place Tuesday through Saturday at 5:15pm and 8:00pm. Trust me, the Luau will be the highlight of the trip for both of you!! Hope this info helps, enjoy your trip!

Re: Going to Disney with a first timer!

Hi everyone, I figured since you all pretty much helped me decide on everything I would share with you my plans for the trip =) we are leaving in 58 days and I have made all my reservations =)

Monday, May 24: 730 AM flight to MCO, Disney's Magical Express will take us to Port Orleans Riverside where we have requested to stay in the Mansions with a water view. That day we will go to Magic Kingdom, and our reservations are at Tony's for 8:00 PM.

Tuesday, May 25: Disney's Hollywood Studios. Dinner reservations at the 50's Prime Time Cafe for 6:55 PM. We are very excited about this reservation, we heard so many great things about this TS.

Wednesday, May 26: EPCOT! Dinner reservations at the San Angel Inn. I love this place and we really like the food they have on the menu! I could not get reservations for Le Cellier for any time during the week we would be there =(

Thursday, May 27: Animal Kingdom. After the day there, we decided we would go to DTD and do some shopping. After that, we are going to return to our hotel and go back to EPCOT for 6:30 reservations in Japan. My boyfriend requested this one because he loves Japanese food haha.

Friday, May 28: We are going to get to Magic Kingdom for the opening because we will miss it on Monday. After that, we want to try to get back to all the parks to re-ride all our favorites. Our flight leaves at 7:30 PM from MCO, and we will be getting there by Disneys Magical Express.

I can't wait to go and I can't thank all of you enough for your help! I will be sure to post how our trip went and I'm looking forward to my first post with all the pictures in it! I want to make a video of our trip so once that is finished I will post it on here so everyone can see it =)

Thanks a lot everyone!

There's a great big beautiful tomorrowwwwww :-)

Re: Going to Disney with a first timer!

Something that you ought to schedule if you can - The Wishes Dessert Buffet is back at the MK! I have seen pics of the dessert buffet and all I can say is WOW!!!! I would get so sick from eating my weight in sweets! The prime viewing area for Wishes also is pretty spiffy too! All that for only $25.99/person. I am not sure if the DDP will work for this event, but it couldn't hurt to ask!

The only conflict that I could see would be your ADR for Tony's for that same night at 8pm. Spectromagic is at 9pm that night and wishes starts at 10pm. That may be a bit too much food all at once for some.

Just thought that I would throw that out there as it would be a priority for DW and I if we were going.

Have fun!
