Our tradition is go to Magic Kingdom and eat at Crystal Palace. If we're at the resort, waiting for our room to be ready (which usually isn't often that we have to wait), then we definitely hit the store. But, Crystal Palace is what we call our 'tradition.'

I agree about going to the MK first - something about that place that just sets the mood for the entire rest of the vacation!!

Magic Kingdom has my vote. There's nothing like seeing Cinderella's Castle to get you in the Disney mood!

That's easy, we try to go to Who Wants to be a Millionaire: Play It!, at least until they close it!
When we first arrive in Orlando, we usually rent a car, drop by a grocery store and pick up some supplies, and check-in to our resort, even if it isn't ready yet. It's usually ready about half the time. If it isn't ready we get something to eat and head to one of the parks, usually Disney-MGM Studios.

The first "Disney" thing we did this year was to celebrate my partner's birthday with dinner at the California Grill. There were 6 of us (all family) including 2 kids (6 and 4 y.o.). We all enjoyed experiencing Wishes from the top of the Contemporary Resort.

Just thinking about how I love entering the Magic Kindgom, and hearing the sound of the WDWRR whistle in the background. (espcially when I'm in Frontierland, of course). Something about it just brings back such great memories of being there. (Lou getting choked up.... talk amongst yourselves... I'm a little "verklempt")

Turn around and gaze into my kids eyes as they take it all in! Their first expressions upon entering any of the 4 parks at WDW is magic to this mamma's eyes! Then whichever park we are in we take our first picture by something meaningful.What is the first you like to do when you get to WDW?

Not close enough to the magic!
My husband did so much research before our trip last summer and he was convinced that we needed to begin the first day at a disney park that the kids might enjoy but not be completely thrilled wioth because he didn't want them to be dissapointed in one park in particular. We began with Epcot
Of course we had to end our trip at Magic Kingdom- no other way to go out!:mickey:
