What type of camera and or camcorder do you use at the parks?
I am going to Disney World in late September and I am looking at buying a camcorder and a camera or a good one that will do both. What does everyone use and do they recommend it? What are the good things and the bad things about your camera or camcorder? Look forward to hearing from all of you.

When I go to DLR I take my full equipment bag with my Canon 50D camera. Mostly cause I never know when something might catch my eye in an artistic way and I want a good quality image. I don't have a camcorder yet but my father in law has been looking into the Olympus Pen. It would be a really awesome option if I was not so hooked on my Canon, haha.

One week from now will be my first trip with my Canon T1i DSLR camera with a 16 gig SD card. I used to use a PAS Kodak camera with a 2 gig SD card. I'm going to set up some sort of Flickr account or website to put all my pictures up.
The good thing about a PAS camera is they're super small and can fit in your pocket but don't take nearly the quality or have all the options like aperture and manual focus like DSLRs do.
DSLRs are bulky, need a bag, and take a lot longer to take pictures purely because of the time needed to get the aperture settings and such correct. But by crikey you'll have great pictures. DSLRs also have a multitude of extra lenses that you can play with at the parks.

We use a Sony digiatl camera for stills and our old miniDV for video. I transfer all our video to DVDs after our trip. The miniDV takes still images also, but the pics only look good when taken in direct sunlight since the camera has no flash, only a video light. While most of the video cameras have a still capability, they are nowhere near as good as a dedicated still camera.

I ended up buying a Canon Powershot SX20. It takes amazing photos and HD video.

My Canon T1i is a 15 megapixel that shoots full 1080p HD video with the 18-55mm lens that came with it. I haven't had an opportunity to get a new lens yet. I'll probably get a telephoto lens first then maybe a wide-angle

Sony Cybershot- 10mp. Fits in pockets. Great photos.

We have a Casio Exslim for stills and are looking into a Sony for recording for this next trip.

As far as camcorders go I think I can lend a helping hand...
For the most part I use my Flip Ultra HD. It is a great little camera. It records in 720p and has a 3x digital zoom. If your not looking for a great zoom this is a great camera and it is less than $200. Footage taken at night is mediocre, but it works. If you are looking for a fun and simple camera the flip is a hands down winner.
My other camera is....
A JVC Everio with a 30GB hard drive. I love this camera! The only reason I prefer my flip is because it fits in my pocket, this is a little bulkier but it is a better camera. It has a 30x optical zoom, but is not HD. Still the quality is exceptional. Not sure how much these run anymore.
If you want a decent HD camera with a good zoom you are going to pay quite a bit of money. I believe that the sony somebody posted a picture of runs about $1,000.
Here are samples from both of my cameras...

Be sure to watch them in the highest quality available to get the full experience. Hope that this helps!
