2012 Booking

I really wish I could be planning a Disney trip for 2011, but I just can't financially pull it off this year. However, I am determined to run in the WDW Half Marathon in 2012 after hearing about the Marathon Weekend for the past two years. I have made training my New Years resolution.

My question is when can I book/should I book my Disney vacation for that weekend in 2012?

I just returned from a long overdue WDW vacation (Jan. 1st-8th) and I believe that I checked for rates nearly everyday in 2010 for 2011 and I think that they came out mid-august or so.

Me and my girlfriend after seeing a lot of the runners and speaking to some of them over this trip that we are going to train for the 2012 WDW half marathon, so maybe I'll see you there

I'll be anticipating the rate release as much as you.

I know that the rates go up in August, so I was hoping that I could book the trip before that happens, but if they don't release them until after then I guess I don't have a choice, but I'll keep my eyes and ears out.

Oh, I just noticed your from Erie, PA. I went to school there. January is the perfect time to get out of the lake effect snow.

Online the cutoff is 1/31/2011 but you can call WDWTC for booking in 2012. Holding the reservation is $200 and you can always call and apply any new promotion that may come up.

@VivaWDW.com Thank you! So I am allowed to apply promotions that may occur after I book? Maybe I'll head over to AAA at some point and talk to a travel rep.

Absolutley, and if you have a Travel Rep/Agent, they will actively seek out these promo/discounts for you.

I just got a reply back from AAA about a vacation quote and they told me that they don't have the rates for 2012 yet, and to try back in July/August.

Update: I talked to my AAA travel agent. It is possible to book a hotel for 2012 with a deposit of one night at the current rate. When the packages and 2012 prices come out in the summer, you are allowed to adjust your reservation to add the package, etc. So although prices aren't available, it is still possible to reserve a room.
