Music, music, music...I can't read while in motion (including flying, both flying and driving I always just listen to music) or watch a movie if you have a portable dvd player or ipod touch
Where in South Jersey you from? I have an aunt that lives down in Cape May county
I Spy, License Plate Game, 99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall. Seriously, DVDs and games will be a good option. Portable DVD players with headphones are the best so you can drive and listen to music without listening to a movie. Sure beats the old days in an LTD station wagon with an AM radio.
If you stop the night in NC, wait to gas up until you hit lower prices in SC. The exits around Florence generally have good prices at the Pilot station on I-95. Fill up again in Brusnswick, GA before entering Florida and get your complimentary OJ or Grapefruit juice at the FL welcome station.
Love that place! Definitely one of the highlights of driving down 95...free OJ, and it's basically a library of brochures...especially on that 18 hour drive from north Jersey, it signifies the home stretch...that, and when you see Daytona International Speedway when getting off 95 and turning onto I-4
I suggest driving towards the second star to the right and straight on 'til morning...
We've driven 3 times from Delaware, and always do it in one day. We always leave bright and early by 3 am. We like that early start because we get past Richmond before rush hour. My DW and I switch off several times during the 15 hour drive. We do stop in Deltona, Florida at a Best Western that saves us alot vs. our Disney resort( just about 45 minutes from disney). Get a decent nights sleep and get up and have a great and inexpensive breakfast at 7 am. in the hotel and then off to our Disney resort and then the magic kingdom.
Wave when you go by exit 3 in Delaware and have fun.
We really don't enjoy the drive home, though. Not much fun to leave our favorite place in the whole world. But then we remind each other that we can come back again soon and talk about some of our memories from the trip.
My tip is once you get to Florida, stay. I'm from NJ and don't regret the fact I haven't been back to the Garden State since 1989.
Didn't Mongello do the same?
Yes he did
Obviously a popular choice then!
