    Private Boat rentals for Fireworks

    Hey Everyone:
I have heard that it is possible to rent a boat through WDW for VIP viewing of the fireworks at EPCOT? Is this possible and does anybody have any experience with this? ALso, if it is possible, could you rent a boat out on the Seven Seas Lagoon for the fireworks at the MK?

Yes, it is possible to rent a pontoon boat to watch fireworks at either Epcot or MK. The boats run between $300-$350 and hold 8-10 people. You need a reservation, though, and they take off from one of the resorts around the park rather than inside either park. I'm thinking Yacht Club and Grand Floridian but could be wrong.
I hear that they give an excellent view and for MK, the music is piped in. They sound like a lot of fun and a unique experience. It should be on the parks website, but you can also call 407-WDW-play.
Just a side note, there is also a pirates cruise that leaves from Poly to watch fireworks. It's about $50 a person but includes snacks and trivia. We're thinking about doing that when we go in September. We'd love to rent a boat, but there are 13 of us. :-/

We have rented the boat for Illuminations several times. Be aware that if the wind is blowing the wrong way it will be impossible to move to get out of the smoke. That is the only drawback. That happened to us only once. If you are a smaller group and don't mind sharing the boat, you can "advertise" for spots on this website or some of the other Disney forums. Be prepared to pay for the entire cost of the boat if some of your fellow cruisers fail to show. Also know that the captain needs to be tipped at the conclusion of your cruise.

There are two different programs provided, the Captain's Strategy, and the Members of the family Strategy. Both programs are only good at the resort at which you're stayed.
