Semi solo trip?

So I've been to Disney quite a few times with either the whole family, my sister, or some other adult. This will be my first trip with just the kids and since my kids are teenagers I'm pretty positive they won't want to spend all of their time with me. Soooo what do I do with my alone adult time?? It's really strange to imagine walking the world without someone else, I'm looking forward to it, just not sure what to do with it...

I sometimes wonder off without Ann (the Wife!) and it doesn't bother me one bit...
I am usually armed with my camera and Handycam and can just take my time exploring the parks at my own pace and get all the photos and video footage I want! Sometimes I can just sit and watch the World go by too!

Riding the rides is never an issue too - I find the single rider lines are great and have yet to feel 'uneasy' at being on my own. A simple '... I've left the family...' always gets a nod of agreement as you'll find you're not the only one doing it!

I'm planning another solo trip down to WDW for January and can't wait. As much as I love going with my wife, she's not a Disney fan so it's these trips when I can really enjoy myself and explore.

Wow! I wasn't even thinking about rides but yes there are definitely advantages to that! I love people watching so I'm sure it will be a great time to do that, can't think about sitting down for more than 10 minutes with the kids before they're fidgety. It will be nice to take my time and look at things at my pace, oh I think I'm already really liking this, just needed some extra encouragement.

I've been a couple of times during business trips. It's a great time to do all the stuff the kids think are boring. World Showcase stuff. Non-ride stuff.

My favorite trips to Disney have been solo trips. I can ride the rides I want to ride, eat leisurely meals after picking my favorite restaurant, take a half day in a spa, shop whereever I want for as long as I want, slide into open spots in crowds for the parades, come and go from the parks as I wish, go the park that I want to see.....

I think we're skipping the Christmas party this time. We did it the last time we were there in December and it was fun, on a bit of a tighter budget this time though.

And you won't be missing anything. Outside of perhaps a new parade float, the Halloween and Christmas parties are painfully repetitive year after year after year.

I want to travel on my vacations all alone but every time some one with me. I'm thinking solo travel is very good because you really enjoy your trip and do what you want. But this is just my wish.
