Any driving tips to Orlando from NOLA?

Hi Disney frequent road warriors! Anyone live near the New Orleans area that makes the driving trek to the most magical place on earth? How long does it take you to get to Orlando, and any good driving tips or places to stay?
As we have moved south, I'd like to think I could pack up the kids and drive there. Any tips are much appreciated!

I don't think I can help you on this one.
One bonus though - you don't have to go through Atlanta this time!

I'd take I-10 all the way to I-75 (around Tally) and take 75 down to the turnpike. Turnpike stinks in my opinion, but it's the quickest shot there.
    "What ARRRRGH you doing?"

    "What are you doing?"
    "No, What ARRRRGH you doing?"

We went I-10 to I-75 also. It took us about 12 hours including several quick stops along the way. But we had 3 old people and 4 kids... not sure how well you all travel.

If I go with all three kids (2 year old included), it will take for ever. If I go with just the two older ones, they are great travellers. I'll let you all know if/when I do this how it goes.

    Thanks all!

Dissylove, I live in Alexandria, La. and we took I-12 to I-10 to I-75 near Tally. Then hit I-4 (I think). It took us about 12 hours from here. We only stopped a couple of times. Need to stop at the Fl. tourist center across the line. They have good info about Disney if you need anymore.
