Just Quit VMK This Morning

Yeah, so after almost a year and a half of playing VMK, I decided to quit last night and make it official this morning. I was thinking that too many VMK players are rude and inconsiderate, and plus I have a lot of stuff going on in my life and VMK just isn't working out for me.

By the way, I left my other forum for this one. Looking for a fresh start!

welcome to the boards. i do agree that most people on VMK can be rude. thats why i decided to just not talk in big public rooms like on main street. instead i talk to my friends from school in a guest room.

I grew tired of VMK as well, but it wasn't just the behavior, I was tired of the game crashing all the time. I learned to ignore the petty conversations. I was there for the games. I couldn't convince people to work together on in the Haunted Mansion, and once they changed POC, I couldn't win no matter how hard I tried.

I was tired of VMK also when my computer is slow I just said "whatever, I'll just quit".

Thank y'all for welcoming me. In a sense, I decided to return to VMK, because of my friends. But still, I'm on it a fraction of the time. Now, I'm focusing on my main love, Walt Disney World. But since they took VMKCentral away, oh well. VMK is less and less about the parks. Since it lost it's magic, and it's not about any kingdom, it's just V.

i just cleared all 16 of my rooms.. i am thinking about giving all my stuff to Ranch and friend for quest making and ride a thon team builds..i still dont know if i am going to totally quit or just go on once a month.. i wont have totally made my choice until tomorrow or so..but if i do leave i will give all my furnishings to the virtual DWTer's on vmk that we all know.

Sorry I was not able to chat more with you yesterday in the game - I had some stuff in real life come up and needed to step away from the computer.

I really hope you take your time and reconsider leaving the game. Take a break if needed, but take some time and think about what it is you love about the game versus what is making you want to quit.

I got the impression that there were certain people in the game bothering you - this can be remedied by simply deleting them from your friends list - and if that fails to work, you can always contact VMK about having your name changed - making it impossible for people to know who you are.

You say that you would consider giving your stuff to Ranch and I for future builds - I truly appreciate that, but I can think of so many other players in the game and most likely here on these boards that can benefit more from it than we can. But I was touched that you thought of us.

Feel free to PM me at any time - I am always happy to chat. I am not here nearly as often as I have been in the past - but I do check in every now and then.

Keep your chin up - and really think about things before you make your decision.

I've not "quit" VMK but I don't play near as much as I used to (especially now that I'm trying out PoTCO). That said however, even if I decided not to play for months and months I'd not clear out my stuff in anyway. I went about 7 or 8 months without playing right after it opened and came back to find half the stuff I had was now rare. I figure it's good to check in on the rare occasion to play the games and enjoy myself and just ignore the people who try to make it something it shouldn't be.

A break is good - but I HIGHLY recommend logging in at least once a month to keep the account active.

VMK has a policy now that accounts that have not been active for 6 months will be deleted - everything in the account is wiped clean, including rooms, furnishings, clothes, posters, and your title. Oddly enough the credit account remains in tact.

well i am getting tired of computer games.. since winter is coming very fast i am going to go out sledding and snowboarding all day. I might visit vmk again. But since it will snow soon i want to take advantage of it for it might not snow again for a while after the first snow. I love winter but i dont want to sit inside any more. I wanna Play while its still nice

That certainly is refreshing to hear from a young person. I think its rare these days that kids go outside and play and actually use their imagination.
I know what you mean though, earlier this year I wanted to be on VMK every second of my day. I would rush home from work to get on and stay on all night and Damon would get so mad at me because I was not spending any time with him.

Now...I hate to say it, but sometimes it feels like a chore to get on. Like I MUST get on because if I don't I will never have enough credits to buy those Halloween costumes that I never seem to trade anyways. LOL.
I have been real focused on working out and getting healthy and there is just NOT enough time in the day for all this.

You hit the nail on the head. It's just people. Some are extremely rude (thus the result of me leaving VMKMagic.com). To get my mind off of this, I spend time with friends that I've known for a while and that I can talk Disney with. (That's what we're here for.)
