The Walt Disney Company has issued a press release demanding a retraction from the University of Washington over their "misleading" press release that prompted several news articles about Disney's Baby Einstein videos. Our oldest son, now 3 1/2, loved the Baby Einstein series and they helped him with concepts like shapes, colors, seasons, body parts. I thoguht they were great. No video is a substitute for quality time, but every so often you need a break and better Baby Einstein than Barney, Teletubbies or worse.

I agree with the article....TV is bad for kids regardless of the format. Kids need to engage with their parents and their environment - not the tube. Anything in moderation is okay....but most people do not use things like this in moderation

UW won't bow to Disney's demand

Seattle Times staff reporter
The University of Washington is standing behind a news release that upset the Walt Disney Co. and prompted the company's chief executive to demand a retraction.
UW President Mark Emmert, in a letter today to Disney's chief executive officer and president Robert Iger, said he will not retract the release, which summarized a study on baby videos and their possible effects.
