New Disney film:

The Walt Disney Co. premiered its latest film Monday: a seven-minute promotional video, set to a familiar Disney score, which will eventually run in airports across the country and U.S. embassies around the world.
The film, dubbed "Welcome: Portraits of America," was produced by Disney for the U.S. departments of State and Homeland Security as part of an effort to project a warmer national image and to boost international travel to the United States.
It will be shown starting this week at Washington Dulles International Airport and Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport -- two of the nation's busiest airports for overseas travel. Government officials said they will soon expand the program to include the country's top 20 international airports, including Orlando International, as well as American embassies and consulates overseas.

Does that music sound somewhat familiar?
I think it's wonderful, and definitely gives you those "Proud to be an American" feelings.. I have to go.. there's something in my eye... again.

THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL!
I love the music and there was great representation. Did anyone notice the possible hidden mickey where the girl is jump roping? Okay-not a true hidden mickey but three round shapes on top of the garage. And great equal representation between men and women but the women tended to be put in groups together....interesting. Okay maybe not and I"m rambling now.
Beautiful Beautiful Video!

That was very moving and I was very pleased to see my favorite city, Chicago, represented in several scenes. I think the best way to portray the United States is through its people, especially our children. The soundtrack made it even more inspiring.
“To all who come to this happy place; welcome. Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past...and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams and the hard facts that have created America...with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world.”

Why is it only when I want to *hear* something that I happened to press the mute button my laptop that requires me to undock it to unmute it? *sigh*
Sometimes all you need is a reminder that out there lies a better place... a better world... a Walt Disney World.

It's Soarin' over America!
This video reminded me of the video during Illuminations, although the music probably made me think of it.

This is a great film. It was done very well and the music communicated the idea of the film in a great way, I think.

I love the multiethnicity shown in the film. I feel it represents a broad spectrum of America. It reminds me of something that would be shown in World Showcase at EPCOT.
