    Boise, Idaho Disney Store closing

It was announced a few days ago that our local Disney Store would be closing "On or by February 20"

It's sad to see it go because I like to walk through there just to get my disney fix, but they never really had anything I ever bought. I don't know about others' stores, but ours was just the plush toys, the cheap toys, a lot of childrens clothes, and a few adult clothes. And a few snowglobes.

I believe it's one of a handful that are closing, but they're going to be opening more in other locations.

Yes, we were upset when all the stores in the St. Louis area closed about a year ago. I agree that they didn't have too much stuff all the time, but we could always find good clothes on sale for our two year old son whenever we went in there. And it was a touch of Disney for us when we couldn't be in the parks.

Here is the 2010 list of closing stores:

Disney Store Closing Several Stores to Focus on New Interactive Stores

This statement was released by Disney Stores. We lost our Disney Store several years ago in the first round of closings, and it was absolutely heart-wrenching for me. I know there are going to be many people very upset about this, and I just want you to know that my heart goes out to you. I definitely know the feeling of having your local "touch of Disney magic" closed down.

    Press release as follows:

Making the decision to not renew a store lease is never easy and we take these types of decisions very seriously. We value Disney Store cast members and our guests, and hope that for those of you affected, you will continue to be a Disney Store fan. The stores that will be closed over the next few months are listed below and will begin to offer discounts and clearance specials soon.

Closing stores will also provide coupon offers in-store good for 15% off your entire purchase at participating alternate locations. DisneyStore.com will offer 15% off your entire purchase and free shipping for all purchases over $50. Limited time only. Offers may vary by store. Please visit your closing store for more discount offers and more details.

We continue to plan for the future and look forward to launching newly designed Disney Stores across the US and Europe. Look for these highly interactive new stores to roll out over the next five years.

Again, thank you for your continued support and remaining a loyal fan to the Disney Store.

I feel your pain on this. My local store is the Canton OH store. That was the only reason I step foot in mall now not so much. I know some of the behind the scenes stuff for the store why it closed and it was not Disney's fault it was the mall operator. I was there on the second to last day to say goodbye. I got muco pics though because this store was original it had the Rescue Rangers sets,Earthquack, and various others..I mean it was still the color palate of green, pink and blue.

I live in Boise also so was sad to see the closing sign but am in hopes it reopens with the new format. I never bought anything there except gifts for my nephews as there was practically no collectibles nor adult clothing. I really miss the Disney Gallery - those were awesome stores!

I wonder if the stores they have left opened will become the interactive ones or if they are opening completely different ones. Will be interesting to see.

If the store is doing well then they will be remodeled into "Disneys Imagination Park" otherwise they are opening brand new stores however they will be few and far between. They want to make Imagination Park a destination similar to the parks. It's not gonna be the same old stuff it's going to be something entirely different.

Re: Boise, Idaho Disney Store closing

The Disney Store is leaving here at the Boise Towne Square Mall, and the Apple Store is going in. Now whether or not the Apple Store goes into the same space, I don't know, but the mall is getting an Apple Store.

I imagine that it will be occupying the old Disney Store just because that is the only store in the mall other than Kiddie Kandids that I know is closing.
