Sounds good. If I can find it, I might read it!
Ok, considering there is no book thread, I guess this was the next best location for the thread.
I recently bought a book called "Disney War"
It's amazing! The secret, inside story as to what turned America's biggest entertainment company to civil war.
And it's told by one of America's best authors, James B. Stewart!
It's a great new book. It gives the history of the Disney company in a novel point of view and not autobiographical. I also learned quite a few things that I hadn't known previously.
One fact that surprised me was that Michael Eisner proposed the idea of Mickey and Minnie being married.
So, any comments on the book?
Sounds good. If I can find it, I might read it!
Go to Amazon.com and search it...sorry forget to get the link They have a "look inside" on it so you can read a pretty lengthy exceprt. I was actually engrossed within the 1st 2 paragraphs. Payday is Friday...whoo hoo Guess what my treat for this week is?Thanks for the heads up on this book.

I thought that was another disney hate book
That don't sound like fun.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and did not see it as a disney hate book. I thought that it took an honest look inside the company and highlighted the positives and negatives that came out of the Eisner era. I would recommend reading it; it contains some interesting Disney tidbits.
I too have the book at home, I am still only about 3/4 of the way thru it. Some of ti is very interesting , but most of it reads like a resume, telling you people's names and what they do at Disney. The best part of the book so far in my opinion is the opening sequence where the author describes being in costume for the first time and performing. :mickey:
Honestly, it's a very businessy novel. I did not hate it nor is it a Disney hate book. Just as OneLittleSpark put it. It is the honest insight of the Disney company.
For people like me who are very economically challenged when it comes to the Disney company, it's a very good way to educate yourself to the business side of Disney.
