when I lived in vista way back in 1999 the beds were regular twin beds. As for your other question I drove so I brought the kitchen sink. And also I hope you like your ceiliings to glow at night. You will see what I mean. Good luck.

We vacationed a few days prior to my CP'er going into the program. We shipped via UPS about a week before the start date all the bedding, towels, big bulky stuff to the Disney Hotel our family was staying in. We left it in their luggage area until we took him to Vista Way. He had two very large suitcases on plane.
Don't forget a good mattress pad!
they are still regular twin mattresses, they put two beds to each bed room. the suggestion of shipping stuff to yourself is a good idea. the only problem is that you don't know the specific apartment number to address it to, since they give you your apartment during check-in. out of curiosity, what role are you going to be in? i've been hearing mostly attractions and quick-service from the new CP's i've talked to.
Haunted Gabe, why would I need a mattress pad? Are the beds uncomfortable without them? I'm going soon for Spring for Attractions (Innoventions CP).
I've been reading up on what to bring, and this is the first mention of that (and the glowing ceilings).
Spring of 2005 had regular twin size beds, I brought two suitcases, one filled with clothes, one filled with fun stuff/gadgets, they were those big roller suitcases.
All the people will look up and shout: "Save us!" and I'll whisper...'no'.
Who watches the watchmen?
OK, the Mom in me is here again...first their mattress' are a blue nylon type. A sheet alone would make it rough and most likely warm. 2nd I saw six beds prior to bedding when we moved the CP'er in, in August. A GOOD mattress pad will seal out anything you don't want to be breathing in from all the previous people who have slept on the bed, plus it sure makes a bed a great deal more comfy. To clarify we were at a Disney Hotel prior so we shipped the stuff to the hotel.
A few months ago an Ikea opened in Orlando. Darn cheap and would probably be worth picking up what household type items you need there. We have one in Chicago-land and that is where we buy college dorm stuff. They have a restaurant too that is darn cheap too for when you are shopping. Breakfast .99 cents.
Glowing ceilings are from other cp before you who put those glow in the dark moons and stars on the ceilings and walls.(eventhough they are not supposed to) When they leave a crew will come into get the room ready for the next group. Well in stead of taking them down they just paint over them. You will not see them during the day. Only when the lights are off. Freaked me out my first night there.

Thanks for the replies! I'm not looking forward to the housing part of it (I've been lucky enough to never have a roommate before this), but thanks to you and the forums, I know pretty much what to expect and make it a positive experience! I am so excited I get giddy just thinking about it! 8 days left! Aahhhh!!![]()
Maybe you will be as fortunate as my CP'er has been. They are all good friends, total strangers until move in day. The group leaves this Friday, 3 more days for them. A couple have extended for an additional semester so Disney is consolidating them now. They and some other new friends from other apts. are already planning a reunion for May in a state midway between their home states. Being 21 you will have special buildings an added plus.
Have Fun!
From what I've read and seen (HauntedGabe, your input on other posts is great, by the way), I think I will have a blast! The only "bad" thing is that I am missing all the Christmas events and lights (I believe the last day is Sunday the 6th). Couldn't they have kept them up just one more week for me?![]()

So you don't think all those high school marching bands at Spring Break is an even trade offfor the Christmas lights???? Pack well and whatever you forget remember Super Walmart (groceries too), Sam's Club and Ikea. Then in your last few days around home remind everyone that it is a college program so you
WILL want care packages! Call home with your Apt. # right away so they can get on that.
Hope you have the time of your life and when you have time let us all know which housing you drew and where you are working. Great times await you!
Thanks so much! I applied for the fall program...I'll get notified around march, I think I had a good interview though...I never thought about shipping stuff to myself....unfortunately I don't know if my parents would fly out with me or how early i'd get out there.....
