Where did participants go to the bank?

Hey everyone! I was just looking at my bank's nationwide locations, and surprisingly enough, there aren't any locations in the east coast - there are no branches in Florida at all. My question is, where did CPers deposit their checks, how did they manage their accounts? What local bank did they use? (By local I mean walking distance or the closest possible)

the local bank is the Vista Credit Union. However there is direct deposit available.

ARe you able to mail deposits? I'm not a CPer but just stumbled upon this. My bank doesn't have any locations....I have to mail all deposits in.

During my CPs I used the Vista Federal Union (or whatever it's called). My money was direct deposited into the account.

Yeah, I just used Direct Deposit to my old home-bank.(I moved to Arizona from New York AFTER the program) But don't worry, there are options. You can ever cash the check for a $5.00 fee in Publix or Wal-Mart as well. I would suggest the Vista acount because it will say you trani fees at the complexes and backstage ATMS

I believe 1982 about when Epcot opened, the program began.

I remember using the suntrust bank located across from downtown disney. Not sure if it called something else now.

The CP started in 1981. The first CPers just worked at the MK, and stayed in a bunch of trailers (now long gone).

Yeah the Snow White Village. I remember the trailer part but I could have been wrong with the date...>_>

I had the same problem with the bank thing, fortunately Disney does direct deposit. I never went with the Vista Credit Union option (but I heard it was relatively painless). Disney will set you up with a ton of this stuff at the orientation.

My CP'er did the Vista Credit thing. They give you a debit card promptly.
I also made deposits to his checking account up here for his other debit card, 'cause that Disney pay wasn't quite enough. He wanted to eat more than once a day! The nerve. Where he worked there was not employee cafe.

Note: They deduct rent weekly. First paycheck will likely be $20 or less, even a negative balance as you don't work so much the first week.
