My son had a very brief one at his college then a formal phone interview. The brief one revealed his current employment experience and they TAGGED him from that point for a specific job, they said possibly but it worked out that way. The phone interview was more sharing of the love of Disney and what if this happened scenario's. Spoke more about his current job again. It further TAGGED him. Disney is so use to these phone interviews, they kinda just helpped him through the process knowing he (and everyone else) is nervous.
When is your presentation? :mickeykid
My presentation is this Monday, March 10th. I already have a cover letter and a resume printed out. And I plan on dressing nice, no jeans. I am just not that good with phone things, so I think I will blow this if its done over the phone. :X
I did mine over the phone. It was alot less then I made out of it and the lady was really nice
And my son went in jeans and a new polo shirt. It is a college presentation so don't fret too much. Relax and smile. Just let your love of Disney carry you through and you'll be just fine. My son said it was very much a nice conversation, not at all a drill that he had anticipated. :mickeykid
The majority of school presentations (about 95%) now do phone interviews. The recruiters rarely do a live interview anymore sadly. Which is unfortunate, as I had a live interview for my first CP and it was a good experience.
So looking nice and a resume isn't gonna matter much anyways?
Sorry, I'll rephrase.
Looking nice is always important. My CP'er went in nice jeans (campus of course and didn't want to look way out of place) a new polo shirt, had a hair cut and shaved. The last two, important little things for guys. Just ask any guy who had to have a hair cut at the CM area of the MK. Yikes.
hey, i had my presentation last week, and i was really bummed when the night before i realized i probably wouldn't be having my interview in person but rather on the phone, but i'm really glad i had it on the phone. either way i think would've been fine, but my interviewer was so nice, i had the interview just about 24 hours later so it wasn't a long wait, and i wrote down a few notes of things i didn't want to forget to mention that i could have sitting next to me. i was nervous that over the phone wouldn't convey my personality well, but what they say is true, smile on the phone and they'll be able to tell. best of luck with your interview, and hopefully we'll both be in florida in the fall!!! :)
well i realized after submitting my application that i didn't mention that i've had nine years of dance experience (i'm auditioning for a character) and different work i've done with kids. i also had thought about possible questions they might ask me, and i had wrote down a few answers incase i blanked of stuff i'd want to bring up, although i ended up not needing it. :) good luck! if you have any more questions feel free to PM me, or post em here for everyone's input.
