Has anyone had any room mate conflict? How dod you handle it? I mean with up to 7 people living under the same roof how do you decide who does what when? I hope this makes sense.

I've been lucky. I haven't really had any roomie issues. Then again, I've hardly been around when any of them are home. I also could never stay in a 4-BR. 7 people are too many for me. I probably will stick with a 2-BR or a 3-BR this summer.

It depends. The best advice I can give you is this, avoid conflicts by agreeing on stuff at the START of the program. When they tell you to knock out rules in the first two/three days before you start your work, DO IT. If you have ground rules laid out, you can go back to them in case of problems and prevent most of the problems. Also if you have a new CM join you talk with them ASAP to clear the house rules so you can nip problems at the bud.

Now what should be mentioned on the rules

• Guests in the apartment
• Drinking(in-case there are people who don't want to get fired like myself)
• How food works(chipping in when you are low or buying things yourself)
• Cleaning the bathroom(especially with 4 people using one bathroom)
• Cleaning the common rooms(garbage, doing the dishes)
• Watching tv(you may think that is crazy but sometimes this happens)
• Volume for listening to music, watching TV and that(another "crazy" thing but it is something you can avoid)

Now I know some of these are outrageous but living with as many of 7 other people, you need to slay down as many rules as possible to avoid situations, I've either heard about or been in.

so i was also wondering and i don't know how to phrase this question so bare with me - but how much can you trust room mates with your stuff. Like if I left my lap top out in the open would it be very likely that someone would steal it or are they usually ok.

That would be up to you. But I have always left my laptop out on the table.

Thats a good question to ask though. My laptop is my life and if it were to come up missing, well, there may be **** to pay, so it's always best to keep it away when you are not around if you feel like it should be.

Yeah, if you have a reason not to trust them, store it when you aren't using it but if not there shouldn't be problem unless you are like a germ-a-phobe or something like that.
