Fall Advantage of '09?!

Hi Everyone!

Im planning on doing the Disney College program this fall of 09 also! I was looking on the website that we could start in June instead of August. . . but ive been reading into this so much i might just be imagining it. Anyway, i think im going to wait for the presentation at my college in early Feb, i think that still should be early enough? Unless one of you thinks that i should apply online. Im just nervous, because this will be my first time applying, and i already have my hopes up. I dont want to be dissapointed, so i am trying to be really proactive! Im really excited i found this site, because its nice to talk to some people that are in the same situation i am! Hope to hear from you all soon. Have a good one.

June start dates are for the Quarter program (and sometimes for Fall Advantage).

I think that would be early enough. I would go to the school presentation. Good luck!

With e-presentations, the world changed and there is no "early" time to apply, just late times for the programs as they typically give two week notices to accept or decline a job offer.

As for what I said with e-presentations being phased out, they are not at least for the fall recruiting period.

And as everyone else said, welcome to DWT and the (possible) Summer/Fall 09 College Program families.

I am planning on applying soon for the Fall advantage program.

But Im having trouble with my community college.
Im from Oregon.

Well this is my 2nd semester, freshman year.
I asked my adviser if they had any idea about this program and if they had any requirements so I can apply, And they dont seem to know anything.
Ug it makes me mad!

Any Ideas, or help?

xVik, my school didn't know anything about it either. If you can get an adviser, or a favorite professor/department head/dean, etc. excited about it, have them check out this website... Disney College Program- Educators

It is the educator area of the main site. There will be someone at your college who is in charge of internships, track down that person. They are usually your best bet. What is your major?

That sounds like a plan.
Right now im just taking general studies.
Im looking around for programs like this, Im not really in a rush to Graduate with a degree anytime soon.
I want to experience things and travel, while taking classes and my time.
But I want to do ether Entertainment/Business or Graphics design/Photography

That's good to hear. I faxed my application for the summer program so I will cross my fingers for the next two weeks. NOTE: ANY former person who did the program and is not on the no-hire list, you can put in for it.

Line of questioning typically comes from the roles ie: if merchandise is one you'll get a question about finding a shirt in a size that is not available in the store. That is the only one I can recall from my interview two years ago.

Yes. You will get one of the roles you marked off (for example- I picked 4 roles this time, and asked a question about the audition dates at the end. My interviewer said I could only be considered for the roles we had discussed).

Thanks for the speedy replies you guys! I listed Photo pass, attractions, and character attendant. They asked me questions about photo pass, attractions and merchandise, but I'm sure any role would be fun!

In Junior Colleges it is often with a special Dept. Chair, usually in the work study department or intern dept. That dept. hooks up with the advisor in your area of study advisor. So go find the equivalent to the work study department. If you need a community college to demonstrate a great model for them shoot me a PM.

Wow it has been almost a month since I last checked in here and there is definitely more/new people, I like it. So I have my interview this Friday and the closer it gets the more nervous I get. Do any of you alumni know how long (in general) it takes to hear back after your interview? Just so I have an idea of how long I have to hold my breath.
