As for your roommate with a possible car, I had a roommate who had a car and would just buy him lunch every now and then and look the other way when gas prices were rising. We're still best friends to this day, mainly in part because I don't bring up the amount of money I probably owe him for gas.

Haha... Ok, that's... Interesting. I won't say whether or not I'll consider that, lest my future roommate browse this forum too...

Can we have our checks directly deposited in the bank we already have, or do i have to get a bank in fl? Im from Wisconsin, and have a bank here and already do direct deposit, and i find it alot easier doing that, and havin my check card instead of cash.... Do all the places in disney take check cards? Is there any places i have to use cash?

Yes, I believe you can use direct deposit for other banks.

You can but if you have anything but Chase, I'd suggest opening an account with Vista Credit Union when you get down. All the parks have Chase for the guests and Vista is in all the apartment complexes and cast areas for the parks. This is a good way to limit the amount of money spent as it is a 2.00 service charge for a transaction as of two years ago.

As far as I can remember the only places that don't take check cards are the QS-F&B carts. But I might be wrong can anyone else verify?

I believe you are correct (any of the outdoor carts, both foods and merchandise, don't take it).

I am hopefully going to be doing the fall 2009 program at WDW. I live in Arizona, and was wondering if it was worth it do do the drive to Florida. If having my car there would be worth the hassle and cost to drive it down. (The cost of driving it down one way is about the same as a round trip ticket.) Thanks!

If you've got a car, bring it. You'll enjoy having it while you're down there.

As long as you're comfortable making the drive, I think you'll be better off that way.

ive been reading a lot of the forums lately, mainly because im disney obessed, and mainly because its only been 3 days since my interview and im already crazy with anticipation, and i just wanted to know if someone could just verify a couple things for me.

like i heard 3 different points of view as to how you're assigned your roommates and was just wondering which one of them was true, or if it was possibly a blend?

    1. your room and roomates are based on availability of each individuals preference, and they just kind of end up together based on that.
    2. whoever you are in line with ends up being your room mates.
    3. you find out who your roommates are online?

oh, and we do get a choice of which apartment complex we want right? cuz im aiming for vista way.

and another question i have, even though i know its been repeatedly asked, is exactly what things should we bring if/when we go? other than the obviouse clothes, dress clothes for class, bedding, etc.?

oh, and ive also heard two sides of when you find out your roles,
    1. that you find out when you get your acceptance letter
    2. you find out when you arrive there.

so ya, any clarifications on the subjectss of the UBER long post are greatly appreciated

    to the last question
You know your role as in attractions, Hospitality, or Merch with your letter. WHERE exactly you find that out on day 2 down there.

It can be either. 1) You can choose your roomie youself. 2) You can wait til check-in to be assigned your roomie). 3) You can get a roomie randomly through the notification system online. It is up to you.

oh, and we do get a choice of which apartment complex we want right? cuz im aiming for vista way.
At check-in, you usually are asked your preference for apartment complex/size, and they try to grant it. However, I have heard of a few people who were randomly put into a complex.

and another question i have, even though i know its been repeatedly asked, is exactly what things should we bring if/when we go? other than the obviouse clothes, dress clothes for class, bedding, etc.?
Some things are a computer, a router, any special kitchen items (a toaster, coffee machine, ect) as they are not in the apartments, decorations for the room, stuff like that.

You find out your role when you get the acceptance letter. And you find out your exact locations Day 2 in FL.
