Wellness Rooms or No?

Howdy,

So here's another question (sorry, I'm channeling all my research and thoughts toward this forum right now, as it's the best solution I've found for questions and answers.

)...

If you're under 21, you automatically get into a wellness apartment (no alcohol allowed). If you're 21 or older, you have the choice.

Well... I'm 21, and don't drink, and have no interest in starting (why waste perfectly good money on gettin' my brain killed off?

)... So my first thought is to request a wellness room. Is there a downside to this? My first thought is that it would mean I get stuck with people under 21 (not a bad thing)... I really don't care all that much if I had roommates who drank (responsibly), but I just don't know what to request...

Any thoughts?

If you are over 21, I wouldn't take a chance on going into wellness. If there is alcohol found in the apartment, everyone could be termed. So I would live in a non-wellness. That's what I've done my past 2 CPs. I am not a drinker. But I was too scared to live in a wellness. So I went into a non-wellness, and I was fine. I'll probably do the same thing if I am accepted for Fall 2009.

I completely agree. I had a friend who was 21 in a wellness apartment and one of her roommates brought alchohol into the room and when they found it no one took the blame so she was the one who got termed since she was the only one who was legal to buy it, therefore they just assumed it was hers.

I am just wondering which one is better housing for people that is not partyer nor wild? because i saw several vblogs that videotaped the wild party in apt and people werent excaltly thinking straight. esp with woman change shirt in front of everybody and camera when she was do her laundry.

sooo, I am not all that stick up person but jsut dont want to deal with that kind of incident or even get in trouble for anything that i havent done...

I would go with Chatham. It's more quiet then Vista. I will be going for Chatham myself.

Look heres the deal......whether its wellness or not people are going to drink and do stupid stuff. The thing is to just remember you can only control what you do. I lived in a wellness apartment where the drinks were flowing everynight you just have to make sure that if people are going to risk doing it they are smart about it and if your really paranoid about it just leave the apartment or request to move to another apartment. I would suggest nonwellness to cover your bases but there is nothing wrong with wellness if you have intellegent roommates.

P.S. I know the video you are taling about and I think its pretty tight

Yeah hopefully I am able to request for non-wellness because I am of age now and I do drink from time to time. I am not hardcore drinking by any means BUT, I may drink from time to time. Moral of the story, if you think that you do want to drink at some point during your program and you are of age, just do the non-wellness.

I wouldn't worry. If you are 21+, you automatically go into a non-wellness (you would have to request to be in a wellness). I will be doing a non-wellness myself.
