    A few questions

I plan on applying for the CP in Sring of '10 and have a couple of questions.

First, I was wondering about room assignments. Are you required to have a roommate or can you have a single apartment? And does anyone know the difference in costs of staying in a 1,2,3, or 4 bedroom apartment?

What are the classes like? Are there any in particular that anyone would recommend taking or found interesting/fun? Where do you take them at?

What have been your favorite roles/jobs to do?

Thanks for any advice in advance. I'm sure I'll be thinking up more questions soon.

Since I'm not an alum..I'll do my best here. I am accepted for the Fall 09 program so I've been getting all the info I can..

For the rooms you have atleast one other roomie. (one bedroom-2 ppl per bedroom) So in the 4 bedroom you will have yourself and 7 other roomies....and the prices range from 75-105ish and the highest would be the 1 bedroom, while the lowest is the 4 bedroom. (so think about 85ish for 3 rooms and 95ish for 2 rooms).

I have to take classes to remain a FT student...so Ill be taking either creativity & innovations and corp analysis cuz i heard its alot of disney type trivia/bkground. also they have minimal work loads. There are classes at all of the complexes. As far as the specific class per complex I don't know.

And I was accepted into Full Service Food and Beverage. I wanted this because I'm a Hostess Trainer at my restaurant now, so I know I'll do a good job. =]

    Hope this helps some.

There are no single apartments. Every bedroom has 2 people in it (so a 1BR has 2 people. A 4BR, the largest size, has 8 people). Also, the more people in the apartment, the cheaper the rent. So the 3/4BR apartments are cheaper then the 1/2BR apartments. I believe overall, Vista is cheapest (there are only 2/3BR apartments there). Then there is a $10 difference between Chatham/Patterson 1/2 and 3/4 apartments (plus Chatham is $1 cheaper overall- for example- the 3/4BR were $80 at Chatham and $81 at Patterson in May).

What are the classes like? Are there any in particular that anyone would recommend taking or found interesting/fun? Where do you take them at?
The classes are located at Vista, Chatham, and Patterson. I took 1 my first CP in 2005 (I took Hospitality Management). It was pretty interesting. I also plan on taking a few of the Exploration Series classes over my CP.

What have been your favorite roles/jobs to do?

I have done merchandise, custodial, qsfb, and character attendant over my 4 CPs (and I will be doing attractions in Aug). So far, my favorite role has been character attendant. I love it! It is so much fun. I love getting to interact with the characters, and work in all 4 parks.

    Re: A few questions

    Thanks for the advice.

What is the difference between the exploration classes vs. the other ones?

And I know it is not required to live in the apts Disney provides, does anyone one know anyone who has stayed in their own apartment that is still close the WDW? And if it is much more expensive to do this? I'm sure I will be most likely staying in one of Disney's apartments, but I'm just trying to get a feel for all my options first. I would like to live on my own somewhere if it was possible for me and not too expensive.

I believe one difference is the length of the classes (I am pretty sure the Exploration Series classes are only 8 weeks, and some of the others are 11-12 weeks). I'm not sure what else. However, the DES classes sound really interesting.

For the most part, CPs live in the provided housing. You have to have a good reason for living off-site (like being married, family nearby, something like that).
