Started talking with my roommate through the pre match thing. Figured that survey covered all the important things.

The notification is up for people doing FA (it doesn't open for Fall people until June 1). However, I met my roomie on FB (I don't think we can officially do the notification system, since she's 20 and I'm 23).

Not always. You can either pick your roomie yourself, get a random roomie through the notification system, or get a roomie randomly at check-in.

I was assigned a roommate through the pre-notification thing. We have spoken a couple of times, and so far compatibility looks good.

If you are assigned a roomie, its based on check-in date, age groups (either under/over 21), and gender (among other things).

lol. among other things? like do they try to make the roomies compatable or something? haha. based on what exactly? i dont recall giving that much information on myself, except for maybe the "hobbies" portion of the application.

There were no questions or anything. I think the main criteria is start date, age and gender. My roommate and I don't seem to have anything obviously in common.
