They aren't really good for anything,

I would bring a cell phone or phone card, so that you can stay in contact with friends/family or in case an emergency arises.

As for kitchen supplies, the only thing that you might want that isn't there is a blender and i think a toaster (don't think that my apt has one.) Everything else is either in the apartment or can be bought when you get here.

if the mattress pad is suggested, then I'd add a bed pillow

i would add this to your list and It will be on my list to save $$$ by use what i already have and jsut bring one set of stuff and two to three days worth of clothes but must have two weeks of socks and undergarments because work uniforms would be worn majority of time we are down there.

    7) linens one set of everything
    8) few days of shirts, few days of pants, few days of shorts two weeks of underwears, two weeks of GOOD quality socks ( will wear them down hard), and one or two professional clothes
    9) Big calendar to keep track of your work schedule and events
    10) small game console or a credit card to order new book to keep you busy on bus transportations to work and back to apartments ( if dont have car and it will be very handy plus bus take like good an hour to drop everyone off at their location and traffic)

its up to you, I am try to keep my stuff very simple amount and clothes will be different story when i come back from CP because disney have lot of cool clothes and you will want to buy them when you get there so jsut bring few days worth of clothes and in the end, you will come back with two good weeks worth of clothes from disney and orlando, fla Hehe

    Re: The Essentials?

i wasnt going to bring linens with me. i was going to buy most of that there.

I was really hoping i could get a read of things to bring that arent really on the websites list. I really would like to see what kind of issues people had and what they may wish they had. Hope this kind of guides things to help us newbies out.

    Re: The Essentials?

yeah i understand that. i forgot to add that i m plan on bring my good sport shoes for some good shape up workouts. I dunno what color for shirts that i should bring for work out since fla is all humid and sunny. I sweat easily and i am thinking light colors and very thin frabic that keep dry even with heavy sweating would work?

    Re: The Essentials?

well light colors help and definetly a light weight moisture wicking shirt of some sort.

my preference is with under armour, amazing product that works great always. it can get pricey so there are wal-mart brands that do similar things but are not as good over periods of time.

Aww I hope you both have a great time! I'm insanely jealous. I'm waiting another year to apply so I can go in my Junior year, but I've already sat through the presentation twice haha.

I really like that erase board idea. That would be very handy for writing down work schedules as you said, and that way you can plan when to hit the parks with your roomies.

As for the charger for your iPod, I would suggest looking into what I got as a Christmas present. I got an iHome, which is, among other things, a radio, alarm clock, iPod charger, and stereo system. You can listen to the music on your iPod, CD player, or even just to the radio. Which reminds me. There are inserts for all the different types of iPod, so you can charge whatever kind you have.

More functions: You can set the alarm to wake you up. And once you program what time zone you're in, it will set the time forward or backwards an hour when that time comes. It is a very handy piece of equipment, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a new radio/clock.

The particular model I have, the iH5R, generally goes for around $100. There are other, more expensive models with different functions, such as speakerphone and bluetooth. But I am quite satisfied with my model, and will be bringing it with me.
