Well, I personally know someone who did Custodial at MK for the FA '09 season and he LOVED it. When I asked him to tell me about his CP he simply said "BEST THING I EVER DID". So, if that's not proof enough of someone who enjoyed his role...I don't know what is. lol
He made a video about his experience:

It's basically just pictures but there are a lot of pictures of custodials and the water mickeys you get to draw on the ground with a broom and water.
Seems like a lot of fun.

Re: College Program Fall 2010
So I finished the application process...the web-based one and I failed. Which I freaked over and was like...waaaah? Well, I got a call from them and they reset my test.
THANK YOU~!
Because of that I got another chance and came off as a strong candidate. I was so excited that before I could get a chance to call to schedule the phone interview I was dancing all over the living room!
I called and my interview is on Sat. March 20th at 11 am. T_T so long to wait...boo.
But I am more then ready for any sort of job placement~<3
If I get in - please let me get in - I will be there from August to Jan. and I know I will apply again after that.

Re: College Program Fall 2010
Good luck to everyone who is still waiting on those purple folders, they'll come soon enough!
SB: I CHECK IN EXACTLY TEN DAYS FROM TODAY!!!! :yahoo:
I can't wait, so excited to be back home with the magic! :)
Re: College Program Fall 2010
I had my phone interview on March 7th...its been one week and I'm about INSANE! About how long has it taken everyone else to get their emails? I applied for Fall 2010.
Re: College Program Fall 2010
It varies. I know people who found out in aprox 1.5 weeks, and others who took up to 4 weeks (plus, there have been people who took longer then that).
Re: College Program Fall 2010
Well, does the fact that I signed up for a character audition make any difference? Like will I get one of those pending letters? I've seen vlogs where people had audition dates set and still got their acceptance letters as cast members for something else BEFORE they auditioned. If that's the case, then I want to cancel my audition. From what I've heard they require a lot of dancing anyway, and I'm a terrible dancer! Does anyone know HOW to cancel an audition?
Re: College Program Fall 2010
That is correct. People auditioning can be accepted for one of their other roles before the audition. Then, if they pass the audition, their role is switched over to character performer.
To cancel an audition, I would guess that you would contact your recruiter and let them know.
Re: College Program Fall 2010
I'm trying for the alumni program this summer, you asked how long it takes? :) Well, I interviewed on Feb. 4th, had to fax them some info I had on something with my legal record (The case was dismissed, but they required it all to have on record, if you have ANYTHING let them know, or it might cause problems later he told me.) that was all reviewed and passed, then recently in March I got a letter saying that my status was pending a final decision, and an e-mail to fill out and fax the rehire request application since I had been terminated due to attendance back in 2003. (I was working 2 jobs then with no car, horrible idea!) So now I'm waiting on this decision, and have no idea what it will be! So that's... 7 weeks now and counting! :) The paper said it could be April 30th at the latest, and the e-mail with the rehire stuff said it could be 4-6 weeks for the rehire process. Either way, I hope it's positive and it's taken a LOT to get back there! :) So that's a different time line because of all this paperwork I'm doing and it shouldn't really take thing long, my first time going to the CP I knew I had the job the day I interviewed and got the letter 2 weeks later exactly.

Honestly? You should audition anyways!!! Yes they do dancing, it can be hard as I've made it all the way to the end and put in the character pool, but they also have only meet and greet characters. I'm pretty sure they focus on your animation and height as much if not more than just your dancing.

I know it will be different for everyone, but does anyone know how much an average weekly paycheck is? Just trying to plan out everything

I think the site said 30-50 hours a week?? I remember working minimum 35 hours a week, it was usually exactly 40, but my managers always asked if I wanted to stay another few hours. I'm not sure about nowadays, but 35 sounds pretty reasonable to guess. Multiply that by the pay rate, and subtract the rent I'm getting like 170 or so? (somewhere in between 165ish and 190 but I did it by 35 hours and 40 hours.) My math isn't the most wonderful off the top of my head with this because I'm not thinking of taxes either but that sounds somewhat accurate.
Re: College Program Fall 2010
My son worked 40 hours. After they took rent out he had around
$125-150 left. FL did not take out your State Income tax so he had to pay that all to IL that they did not deduct at income tax time. There were six in his apartment.
Depending on what he was doing I generally sent him $50-$100 a week so he could do some more Disney stuff while he was down there. He loved to golf and had his clubs with him. This was fall of 2007 since then the minimum wage has slightly gone up.
My niece is down there now and not getting many extra hours at DHS, so it is tighter than the hours are at the MK or Epcot. So that will play into it. She is assigned to the roller-coaster/TTT/Fantasmic.
