Just curious, does anyone know if college program members can go to the Halloween and Christmas parties?

They sure can (and do- I went to 3 Halloween and 2 Christmas parties this year). However, you have to buy a ticket to attend.

I have another question about parties. I keep reading posts about people getting kicked out for partying. Are they like super strict there or are some people exaggerating.

It can happen (especially for people that are under 21- the #1 reason for people being termed from the CP is underage drinking). Parties are allowed- just be careful with them and you'll be fine.

We had a couple of parties when I was down there that attracted the attention of Security, mostly noise so it was an easy fix. The parties can be fun, but you really should be careful at them so you don't run the risk of getting in major trouble. One thing is that some of your neighbors could be just fine with the parties, then there are some who are not the biggest fans of parties. We had some people upstairs that would call security if the music was even a little loud. Be straight up though with your neighbors, try to be curteous of them and HOPEFULLY they'll be the same way with you.

Parties were really bad during my first program in 2000, so when I went back in 2002 some rules had changed...you cant drink outside an apartment and i think there's a maximum number of people allowed in an apartment at once(I don't remember the number but it was small). If you want to avoid parties there are wellness buildings (if you are under 21 you are automatically put in one). If you want to go to parties, you should be able to find them...either way you'll have a great time. the 2 wdwcp's i did were the most fun i ever had

Yeah I actually roomed with a guy who almost got kicked out of the program because he gave a beer to an underage student. The only reason he was able to stay was because is was proved that the student lied about their age to him. He was still not allowed to advance himself through the program (advanced internship, management internship.) Technically, underage people aren't allowed in non-wellness rooms to begin with, as far as I remember. But then again, I'm a Fall 2003 alum, so it's been a while.

Parties were never broke up unless it was extreme noise issues, and then they started carding, big time.
