I did the CP 6 times (and now am currently FT at Disney). For me, the CP is an awesome experience. I had many great moments, and met a lot of great people (many of whom I am still in contact with). I wouldn't trade my CPs for anything in the world
how cool? wat is the application process like cuz i cnt apply til feburary
It wasn't too bad (although, it's changed since my last CP- I never took the online interview part).
ok so it shudnt be too bad. i think i have a good shot
What do they look for in applicants? Well, first thing I suggest is be in a good mood. Take your dog out for a walk. Go to the zoo. Just do something that makes you happy. They look for people who are generally excited, and your voice can give away your mood. They are looking for people who will stay happy, because there are times where you just flat out have a really, really rotten day. But you cannot let that get in the way of spreading cheer to the Guests. So being in a good mood during your interview will go a long way in giving a good overall impression of you. And since the interview is mainly done on the phone (I have heard of one or two online interviews being conducted, but as far as I know, the main interview method is via phone,) they cannot see you in person. This is why it is absolutely critical to be in a good mood, and have it show in your interview.
Next, don't be afraid to put down some of the less desirable jobs on the application. The more jobs you apply for, the greater the chance that you could be hired. They always need Custodians, for example. But do not worry if you are offered a job that you didn't exactly have in mind. If you get chosen for Custodial, and get sent to Studios, then you can still have fun. The Custodians there are allowed to be creative. They've been known to use water and a broom to create characters on the ground. That's something we were never allowed to do when I was a Custodian at World of Sports. That's just one example of how you can make the most of a less than glamorous job. And it really gets the Guests into things. They love watching those water characters being made, for example.
omg so helpful thnx
Kitty having just done the Spring 2010 program I can sincerely say that it is one of the most rewarding experiences I've ever had. I will never regret doing it because you meet so many amazing people and make so many amazing memories while you're there. I could go on all day talking about it so if you have any questions about it just ask and I'd be more than happy to answer them.
awesome!
Thank you
