WDW CP Spring 2012

So i have officially applied for the spring cp in wdw. They recently launched a new site, so it seems that the process is a little different and there are still a few glitches that need to be worked out.

Here was the process that I experienced:
The application became available around 11am or so. I quickly ran home from the pool and submitted my app. It was a little confusing--lots of scrolling that seemed completely unnecessary, especially since half of the screen was blank.

About an hour later, I received an email asking me to complete the web-based interview. This consisted of personal questions about my thought processes, work ethics, and opinions of myself and other people in general.

After completing this, I was forwarded to a page saying that I had passed the WBI and would be receiving an email to set up a phone interview on the site. I chose 1230 pm on wednesday, september 7!

This has been quite an exciting day (also booked my trip through mei-mousefan travel to wdw from december 26-january 1). I cannot wait for my interview and too find out my fate.

Does anybody have any phone interview tips? Anyone else applying for the spring too? Lets get some discussion going

The phone interview is, for some reason, really daunting to some people. However, my honest advice is... well, to be honest. Make sure you have a happy tone in your voice. They can tell when you're smiling and when you're not. Also, make sure to answer each question completely honestly and I feel an eager attitude goes a long way with any interview.

I had a coworker just get transferred from Disney Quest because his entire resume was not only a lie, but he somehow made it through the interview process even though he was a very rude and, to be quite honest, unintelligent person.

Honesty is the best policy in this case. Make sure the roles you choose are roles you'd really like to do. They will try to ask you to put custodial and Quick service Food & Beverage on your list, but if you're honestly not into either of those, you can politely say something like, "I feel I will benefit more from the roles I chose" or something like that.

They're looking for people who are eager to work and learn about the company and also people who are looking to use their CP as both resume and life experience.

So, in a nutshell, be positive, honest, and eager and you'll do wonderfully!

Thanks for the tips! I'm not really nervous about it--just anxious haha. I want it to be here and over with so I can get the outcome

I am an eagle scout and live by the scout law so honesty is no issue for me haha. It's just so much easier to be real--to be yourself. While I don't really want to do quick-service or custodial, when it all comes down to it, I'd be happy in any position (except for maybe housekeeping...). But definitely going to stick to my main choices!

I did the college program in 2010 and like KacieG, my best advice is to smile during the interview! Smiling automatically makes you sound friendly and enthusiastic. If this program is something you really want to do, be open to accepting any roles. I actually did custodial on Main Street and it was the best 7 months of my life! Getting to walk around, talk to guests, and watch fireworks every night was amazing. I'm sure if you're on this site, you have a great passion for Disney and you will do great! Good luck!

My exact thougths! I have my preferences such as attractions or merchandise, but am willing to do most anything in order to gain experience.

It has been my idea, ever since high school, that I wanted to diversify my education as much as possible-to gain as much experience in as many different fields as possible!

We'll see how it goes

I believe that it went well. Had her laughing a lot--i just told stories to answer her quesions. Guess I will find out eventually....lol. She was impressed that I had written a book.

Now just have to occupy my mind with school work so that the time passes quickly haha

I'm sure the time will go by quickly. From what I've heard, the time frame should be shorter then it has been in the past

Hey i have a question i applied for the disney college program for spring 2012 and IM SO EXCITED i had my phone interview and it went very well he loved me but when does the prpgram start i know it depends on which one your in but theyre three but i applied for the spring advantage when does it start and end? also what would i need to bring with me ?!?!? if i get in of course im so nervous

I had so many questions when my son was lst doing his CP. He was so excited when he was accepted. So sad when he got his role. So excited with his role when he gave it a chance. It couldn't have been a better fit or with better CM's or supervisor.

And since I am a Mom, that moved him in during the Fall Advantage of 2007....my two cents for anyone moving into college housing is A REAL GOOD MATRESS PAD! : ) And if you really like your back, go to Walmart upon arrival and invest also in a Memory Foam pad. : )

Spring is Jan-May, and Spring Advantage is late Jan/early Feb-Aug.

Stuff you bring depends on what you like to have with you. I tried to bring as little as possible. Stuff included bedding, clothes (not too much, as you are in costume for a lot of the time), photos, my camera (both video and digital), computer, personal stuff, stuff like that. A lot of stuff I got in FL
