    Disney Character Auditions! Height requriement?

Hello! I just applied for the Disney College Program and I am going to audition for a Disney Princess/Look A Like in March! But I noticed on the audition site that they like you to be 5'0 or 6'0. I am 5'4. Is this going to hurt my chances of becoming at the auditions?

    Thanks!

    Lauren

Assuming Disney auditions the same as Universal, they have different height ranges that you may fall into, but since you're going for a face character, just be warned that Disney is really really picky as to who gets to become a princess, and who gets to befriend a mouse if you catch my drift

Ok I see! So do you know how strict there are on the height requirements for the Disney Princesses?

I would assume each character has a set height limit, you either are the height, or you're not. They might have some leeway by maybe half an inch to an inch in either direction. But don't worry, Disney's usually good at finding something suitable for you if you don't get your dream job. I wanted to do theatre stage lighting and ended up in the jungle telling bad jokes, it's all good

Re: Disney Character Auditions! Height requriement?

They are VERY strict about heights. You will not be a princess unless you're 5'7 or higher, or if you happen to look AMAZINGLY like one of the princesses. However, you can still be in Entertainment - though most likely a fur character or a performer - at 5'4.

The reason they are so strict on the height is mainly for costuming purposes so they can reuse the ones they've got. They also like characters (aside from a select few) to be on the taller side to keep the "magic" aspect and "larger than life" images of the characters.

Here's a link to a list of heights, but do NOT take this as law. They literally change all the time. http://durnesque.tumblr.com/FaceCharacterHeights

As a fellow 5'4 gal who has auditioned 3 times, do NOT get your hopes up. We are very very average heights, meaning lots of people are our height, and they rarely need people of our height.

Basically, unless you're a spitting image or have "that something special" you'll most likely have to audition multiple times and/or be chosen for a performer - in shows, parades, etc. Hope that helps!

I think you mean 5'7 or lower (as the princesses end at 5'7). Usually the princess range is 5'4-5'7 (with the exception of Rapunzel, and I want to say Merida).

Oops. You're right. They tend to accept more of the 5'6-7 because 5'4 is so common.

Dang, I'm already 5'8" and I have one growth spurt left... that really cuts into my possibilities...

Not necessarily! They're always looking for performers - dancers, parade performers, etc. While you may not be a named character, you could still be a performer!

I am interested in being a parade performer. I am only 4 11, but I have a lot of dancing background. I have done competitive cheerleading for over 7 years and I have always wanted to perform at Disney.. Will my height make me unable to perform? I am not trying to be a character, just strictly a street dancer. I read the requirements and it didn't say anything about height, just that you have to be "clean cut" basically. I don't have any tattoos, piercings, etc. The only issue I face is my height. If you have any information, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!
