Everyone was nice, right? It was easy to make friends? I'm nervous I'll end up being a loner. Hehe.
If it ends up that I don't have plans to go on vacation to Disney World this summer (lol) then I might try and do the fall advantage program. Of course, this is all depending on whether or not I get accepted in the program!
Oh, I have a good question! Do they only accept one student per college campus? Or can there be more than one from the same campus?

Oh yeah. If I can make friends anyone can. I was very shy when I went down and i made many friends. I still correspond with many of them (including one of my roommates). I am hoping to go back down for Fall 2006. Oh, I worked mostly at Fantasyland doing merchandise, though I was also deployed to Adventureland and Liberty Square several times and I picked up MANY PAC shifts (the best times EVER!!).
I have a question for those of you who know about CP-ing...I am in my second yesr of college and am married. I've wanted to do the CP for a while, but I know I wouldn't want to be away from my husband for so long.
Is there housing for married couples there or something similar?
When I was a CP I lived in an apartment with other interns. All over Orlando they do short term leases and you'll get a discount as a Disney employee. I found that the apartment actually wasn't much different in price from the Disney housing. You can also look into furnished vacation homes. As far as I know though the actual Disney housing doesn't provide any kind of options for married couples. Anyways though I'm glad to answer any questions you may have.Quote:

The college program is worth it, I loved it and am so glad I had that opportunity. I worked at the TTC and did MK parades and loved my managers and the other vacation planners. I was there from august to december of 2004, (I went home early to be with my family on Christmas), and I experienced hurricanes frances, jean, and ivan, plus, charley had hit about 4 days before I got there. Even through all that, it was worth it. The memories you make, the free admission to the parks, the people you meet, and having great pictures and knowing the tips when you visit the park again make it all worth it. The one thing I would say, you don't make money. Let's face it, you may get minimum wage, but after you pay rent and buy groceries, you don't have much, and most people don't save there, you want to buy souveniers and eat out and take advantage of the discounts you get. So, as long as you are cool with not really making money, I say, go for it, I mean, when are you ever going to get that chance again?
Enjoy, and meet as many people as you can, guests and other cast members. The guests love when a cast member takes the time of day to speak to them and pay attention to them!

Well, the presentation was today, sort of interesting but I knew everything. And then in a surprise turn of events she sat the three of us who stayed down for the interview! Everything I'd read said we would schedule phone interviews! But it wasn't so bad, we laughed a lot, but I think I made an okay impression. I don't want to be overly optimistic about it so I don't jinx it. Now I just have to wait two to three weeks. Ahhhh..
I did the College Program in Fall 98. I was a lifeguard at Blizzard Beach. It was the best experience. I will never forget it. I would like to forget a roomatte :) I then turned down an advanced internship in 2000 because of a boyfirend. Who knew we were going to break up a month after the internship started. Boy was I stupid! Now I love going to Disney with my fiance. Hey maybe My fiance and I would of never gotten together if it wasn't for me turning my internship down. You know how they ask, if you could go back to a time in your youth where would you go... I would do to to th CP again.
Yay, I love hearing stories of people enjoying themselves on the CP. I've only heard of a few people who didn't like their time there. It's a long time to be away from my family, but I think it will definitely be an excellent experience.
It is an amazing experience! I have to say it was the best time of my life. I still correspond with 2 of my old roomies (one goes to my school, and the other is now full time and I got to see her when I went down in January for a visit!). I applied to go back down again for the Fall 2006 CP and I am hoping to go down as a character (it's been 35 days, though I have a feeling the audition has something to do with the delay). My audition is in 12 days and hopefully I'll do well.
