I am definitely in for this when I come of age in 4 short years but does anyone know if this Program can help you become an Imagineer?

It can't hurt. It is good to get your foot in the door at Disney. When I was there they offered different courses, I imagine they still do so just pick one that suits reaching your goal. (I took a TV/Movie Production course)

I think that would be just about Goofy range.
All the people will look up and shout: "Save us!" and I'll whisper...'no'.

Hi! I just registered today so my whole profile thing (or lack there of) is very very bland, but I got so excited reading these posts that I HAD to post something before really getting acquainted and what not.

Anyway, I have been dying to be a part of the CP ever since first learning about it a few years ago, and would LOVE to audition when I am of age and etc.

I am also curious about whether or not it's a lot harder to obtain a character position over some of the other ones... if that makes sense? AND whether or not there are any characters fit for those who happen to be 5'7"?

sorry that all seems pretty demanding and weird now that I read it over...

    phew!
I'm not too good with forums and stuff and was nervous about posting anything for fear of wasting peoples' time... I'm so relieved everyone seems so nice here!

I am inclined to thing a character position is a little harder because of the training, you have to be able to express yourself without talking and also do it in the proper way your character would do. As for your height - Goofy, and Woody, are quite tall, perhaps Captain Hook? There are lots of characters that would fit that height.

Not sure on that one. Probably a little more intense training. And eventhough you would wear wigs and makeup you probably would have to resemble one of the princesses.

what courses/programs are they currently offering, or will be in the next 2yrs.?

two people already mention hospitality management. & tv. production.

anything in security or criminal justice?

i would secretly love to be a "real" character but i'm 5'2 & will have braces in my 20's.

They tend to keep to subjects related to WDW.(restaurant & resort managment, TV/movie production, possibly guest and staff relations) I doubt very much they will have any courses on criminal justice.

WDW Donna, Yes, there is a college internship program for "criminal justice" majors. Their intership would be with security at the parks or at resorts. .
